Good eye, it definitely looks longer than a standard iron and is about as long as the Vapor Pro

Def. BK...my first guess.  Duval???  What??? You're off by about 1/4 Century.  Grab your flip phone and VHS and return to the late 90s.🤣

If only it were possible.  If only.

I would expect nothing less..

Well, I dropped by the shop today and hit the ZX5 and ZX7 drivers. Both had stock Diamana TV shafts, the ZX5 had a 60g-ish shaft, and the ZX7 a 50g-ish shaft; the 60g shaft was a bit on the soft side, and the 50g shaft was a noodle so I can't really say I gave the ZX7 a good try. The main difference in the heads is that the ZX5 is slighter longer front to back. I also think it bulges a little more at the toe. I preferred the look of the ZX5, but the ZX7 isn't bad either.

Now, I was hitting indoors in a net, but the first think I noticed was the sound. They were both pretty loud. A hit off towards the toe with the ZX5 produced a really high-pitched "TINGG!!", though centre shots were more muted. It probably wouldn't be so noticeable out on the course.

I had a look at the 3w and 5w as well, but didn't try them because the shafts were not right at all for me. Both bonded hosels, though releases for the North American market might be different. Really liked the look of the 3w. If anything, seemed a bit open at address.

Wild to go from Mizuno low bounce soles to V sole. I find they play very different

To my knowledge the average PGA player's low point as measured on trackman is nearly 5 inches after the ball. I agree the "feel" of the two soles is different in how they go through the turf, but inevitably, it doesn't make a huge difference on your shot as the ball is already gone. I liken it to using a powder specific snowboard that is keeping you more above the service and not digging too deep. The feeling of so little resistance is actually quite shocking when you first try a Srixon. In practice though, I just think it is less strenuous on the body and all results can be nearly identical.

It is interesting that I think every tour guy that is playing the srixon driver have opted for the 5.

He may also get the Hideki treatment and have a set built for him without the V sole... however, I switch back and forth between my 919 Tours and my 945 blades and don’t find it too difficult. Fleetwood also had his TM blades and Srixon 4 and 5 irons. The V sole looks huge when it’s in the bag but I think it’s the best sole design on the market

It used to be that the 5 series had the bigger head, the 7 series a little smaller, and the 9 series a head around 400cc or less (I'm thinking back to the Z525, 725, and 925 heads here), but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Both are 460cc, and the 9-series is no more.

I just looked at the Japanese website, and I was hitting a 49g Diamana ZX50 S shaft in the Zx7, which has a torque of 6.6.

No wonder I didn't get on with it.

But, yeah, just based on first impressions, I'd go with the Zx5 over the Zx7.

I find the X7s have the absolute best turf interaction I have ever seen. That may be different for everyone but it is way less jarring at impact.
