And the orange AD-DI shaft is out! Or was that in his fairway woods?

Hideki has been tinkering with driver shafts for the last year it seems. AD-XC and AD-HD with the XC also appearing in fairways alternating with the DI. Apparently he had a special XC built for him too in some ridiculous flex.

To my knowledge the average PGA player's low point as measured on trackman is nearly 5 inches after the ball. I agree the "feel" of the two soles is different in how they go through the turf, but inevitably, it doesn't make a huge difference on your shot as the ball is already gone. I liken it to using a powder specific snowboard that is keeping you more above the service and not digging too deep. The feeling of so little resistance is actually quite shocking when you first try a Srixon. In practice though, I just think it is less strenuous on the body and all results can be nearly identical.

That would kinda fit with Brooks given his history of wrist issues and steep AoA.

Not a big fan of Brooks, but I do love that he has an M5 driver and M2 fw in the bag. A major champion and a long  ball hitter in the game it kinda shows the new club release hype is really just that.

Disagree. A major champion is a dope golfer, can play anything. Some is hype, some helps

The beauty of everyone having their own opinion and view of something. I’m not saying there aren’t improvements from one year to the next, but if the SIM 2 is such a revolutionary design and way its built, why is one of the best in the world playing a 3 year old design?

It's hard to get a driver head and shaft combo that is totally synched up to your impact dynamics where everything feels close to perfect. This had to be a unicorn combo for him and going to roll with what is working vs. chasing a few extra yards when not obligated or incentivized to play the latest equipment being under contract.

Because each player has both individual needs and potential attachments to pieces of equipment that give them confidence. The M5 is a very different design from a CG standpoint that may very well lineup better for how Brooks strikes the ball being someone that has a negative AoA with the driver. So for him and his particular requirements, the lower CG focus of the SIM might not be good for his delivery. He tried something similar in the Mavrik which is extremely similar to the SIM and both drivers obviously left him wanting since he went back. It is far more a comment on his needs than an objective view of whether or not new tech is just hype.

Just saw a email from srixon about a ball release on 2/1/21. Would make since by my books to announce brooks with a new ball release to grab some big headlines.

its an awesome company with great irons. I hope getting brooks helps increase their US market share. They’re already huge in asia
