Anyone know backstory on Fowler’s blade putter he is using today after switching from his more recent Scotty Mallet? It’s a friends I think Azinger just said. The Patina looks NICE

He seems to have fallen off a cliff in the last couple years. Not sure what’s going on. I also don’t understand why he’s trying to play the hardest clubs possible when trying to win. Kevin Na said even pros shouldn’t use blades as they are so unforgiving and should get at least CBS. He’s got the classic  shaped clubs, but he’s not winning with them.

Dude, his RF proto 33's just came out.  The reason for the long dry spell is he had 32 crappy sets of irons to blow through before designing the perfect ones.  I fully expect him to win the masters this year.  I also fully expect all the flippers that bought them the first day, thinking they'd sell out fast, to try and return them.

Given that he’s 3 back and probably missing another cut, maybe the 33rd set of blades wasn’t what he needed. I’m a fan of Ricky’s and I hope he can turn it around. I’ve still got my set of orange Cobra Amps from 2013 when he was just getting big. But he hasn’t done much since his players championship a few years ago.

I mean he’s made millions, and he got married. for some, that’s enough. Disappointed as a fan, but honestly, if I could hang around the tour and still make good money, sound like living the best life.

Everyone's definition of winning is different. I personally would call making tens of millions of dollars and getting to play golf while traveling the world as a happy young couple "winning."

Zinger is quoted saying that his return to blades  is what got him over the hump late in his career and allowed him to win the Sony.  YMMV

I haven’t the foggiest idea why he decided to go to that stupid putter anyway.   He didn’t have a putting issue. He had a proximity to the hole issue.  But.  I’m shocked he gets up and goes to work at all.  So I guess it evens out.
