Which Ventus for me?

Hola Amigos! So I was lucky enough to get gifted a Venus 5S Red, and I already had the 6S Blue. I've always hated hitting driver so really looking to make a change and stick with it. Took then to hit today on trackman and was quite surprised...

 

Below are averages on 10 shots (5 with each at a time.) Longest carry, by a long shot, was with the red (on my last shot), but the longest total was with the blue. My miss with the red was high and spinny (over 3.3k) and my miss with the blue was a little hook. However, I know that when I get really tired, my swing speed will drop a lot and my miss with both will be really spinny. 

 

Looking at the numbers, stick with the blue, red, or look at the blue 5s/red6s?

Really like the numbers with red definitely try 6s

Think based upon those numbers, you would be doing yourself a disservice if did not give the Red 6s a try.

Realized I had a typo with the blue spin. Blue spin is 2275. Still like the red 6s?

You can play either one and be fine from the numbers.  There's no significant difference across the board.

Personally feel that golfers get way too far down rabbit hole relating to numbers on a monitor and tend to err too low in spin to be consistently in position to post best possible score on course. At your speed, the very slight extra spin from Ventus Red compared to Blue would in all probability be more likely a help than a hindrance.

At that swingspeed you’ve got more upside with the Red. Numbers say you can play either but over time if the Red is a little higher launching with spin in the 2500 range, that’s what I would go with.

At those speeds, its not going to matter a whole lot. Pick the one that feels best to you

Both were extremely similar.

Easy choice..... play the one with more control lol

First, I'd pay it forward and gift me the blue obviously.

 

Second, play the red. Launch will help you. A spinny miss will help you. If any more tinkering, maybe the Red 6s to see if that weight profile can replicate the slightly higher SS you saw with the blue.

I'd go with the one that gives me the best dispersion since everything else is a wash.

Based on those numbers I would use the one that matches the colorway of the selected head. Go with the esthetics as the tie breaker

Wish I had to choose between 2275 vs 2240 spin rate and 12.3 vs 12.5 launch angle.  Pretty good problem to have.

 

You can kick around the Blue 5S or the Red 6S but I honestly wouldn't expect all that much difference, so you might just be spending money for the sake of spending money.  Feel and dispersion should be your deciding factors.

VENTUS is produced at our wholly-owned factory in Vietnam. We have two factories, one in Japan and one in Vietnam.
