I also have 223 in 7-PW in Recoil 95, and ordered the 5 and 6i. The 223 7i has good pop - the face is thinner than the 921F and it looks great at address (to me). I understand the heel to toe and sole are a bit thick for some, but for my game, I like it. In fact, I prefer the 223 as I want the higher spin with pop and slightly more playability with not much loss in forgiveness - I hit both in the center, surprisingly so. I will strengthen the PW slightly. I'm also re-shafting to MMT 85 Tapers. I like its dampening/smooth feel and I find it very accurate after using it in Honma TW-X.

What irons did you have for most of the year last year? The 921F’s?  I am also interested in the 223’s. Wondering if you can compare the 5 iron performance of these two forgiveness wise as that is the strongest loft I would order.

I am having great luck with Mizuno orders…my wedges were held up with the legal because of one of the grinds.  My iron order which is most likely ready to ship is held up because of the IT issue.  🤦‍♂️

12-15 still have a few months til the weather breaks I just wanted them by springtime.  Coming from Mp20 MMCs looking for more forgiveness in the longer irons and the set gap wedge was appealing as well.  Looking forward to giving them a go.

yep, I agree. titleist short irons look the best in the business. Mizuno has been trying to find their way in that department for awhile.

Just picked up my 221-223 combo set with PX LS shafts!  Ordered from a small golf store here in mid December.  Owner told me they are still waiting for their bulk/stock order to come in.

Those 221’s are beautiful. If I don’t love the 223 short irons I’ll definitely look at blending like you did. Would love to hear your feedback between the two when you get a chance to try them.

The LS shaft is amazingly smooth! It seems like a perfect shaft for those 221s.

Wish I could but mine were free and I had to order before seeing them in hand so I ordered the 225 in 5-7i and then 223 in 7i-PW. I wanted insurance in the event the 223 was too much club. But it is not too much in the 7i.

 

I ordered the 223 in 4-6i to complete the set. They haven't come in yet.

 

I played the 919F, and then for most of last year played the HMB and Honma TW-X which was a more compact club from heel to toe. 

 

But after hitting the 223 7i, I was confident that I could handle the 223 5i. Vosh says it has the forgiveness of the 921F in a slightly smaller package. If you hit your current Mizuno in the center, then the probability is that these will work. The question is whether you want the higher spin and shorter distance in the 223 as compared to the 225. The 225 are rockets. I just thought the 223 was a bit better through the turf.

 

Mizuno said they would arrive in early February but it doesn't look like that will happen.

also a few comparisons to Mp20 mmc from 9 iron down the 225s are just as small if not smaller than the MMCs to my eyes.

I blind ordered a full set of 225s 3-pw. Saw them in person the other day at GG and was amazed with how nice and compact they look especially in the short irons! This is going to be a fun experiment with players distance irons for me. I ordered mine a half inch long and lofts set like the t100s irons. Also got the 6.5 LS shafts with blue icon ferrules. I can’t wait to try this set!

i basically did the same thing. 225s 4-PW with 6.0 LZ shafts. I couldn’t wait any long. Here’s to hoping I’m not listing them on here in April!

DD has them all shipped to them and then they ship out to the purchaser so I suspect that it arrived at DD yesterday and then DD shipped out then.

Got it, that makes sense. The Club Champion rep I have been working with said the same. Last week he gave me an ETA of 2/11 but I have no tracking or anything. He said they ship from Mizuno then to the local CC for inspecting, checking etc, then they continue on to the customer.
