I haven’t hit the 225’s but give it a try. If you don’t like the results you can always bend them back.

See my previous post for additional details. Assuming you are fitting yourself here; the 225s are already designed to go high or at least higher than the 223s. By weakening the lofts, you’ll increase even more height and spin which could lead to drop off (some and many cases severe drop off in distance). I wouldn’t weaken the lofts initially until you play several rounds and range sessions with the full bag. You can always have them bent later.

For UK/EU people, spoke with Mizuno today. Production and shipping has now started obviously so hopefully people will be seeing some blue boxes soon.

Also for anyone that has ordered C-Taper or C-Taper Lite Mizuno EU are saying that they ran out of stock entirely a little while ago, this is confirmed on their website. When I rang they're pre-emptively saying stock will be around the end of April but they didn't seem convinced by that at all. Mentioned it could be the end of July before they start to see it coming in. If you have an alternate shaft option might be worth speaking with your fitter/retailer and see if you can swap over. Should be able to keep your place in line. Everything else appears to be pretty smooth sailing.

So, given the lack of posts from people who've received their irons, I'm guessing Mizuno did not even start building the custom orders until the release day. I assume there's a good reason for that, but it's disappointing.

Any feedback on how the 223 and 225 would compare to Taylormade P770 in forgiveness/playability? Does the P770 sit somewhere between those two or more toward the 223?

I have MP20 5 HMB, 6-8 MMC and 9-P blade. Saw all three of the new sets this afternoon. Looks alone 225s stand out big time. All models look very nice to be sure but relative to MP20 seems the 225 are far more svelte than their HMB forefathers.

My rep told me that anything ordered from announcement in November thru Jan 25 is already built (except for some out of stock shafts, mostly KBS). Their issue remains grips and availability. He said they received a large shipment Monday and Tuesday this week and orders are flying out the door now.  Take all this with a grain of salt.

This actually makes sense. My order was 1/10 and was told an ETA of 2/11. No mention of grips or when my set was/is being built, though.

Ugh, there is so much room for improvement with custom golf orders. It's insane that such minor things can hold up an order for months. I would change my grips to literally anything else to get the clubs in my hands.

 

They really need to modernize the order process.

I placed my custom order on 12/14, and received my irons today. I never received a shipping notification, they were just on my doorstep today. 223 5-PW , 225 4 iron, modus tour120 shafts and z cord grips.

My stock 223 set with modus 115 stiff also arrived today! Ordered them from GG online on 12/27, shipped yesterday (from the store, I’m guessing) and arrived this morning!  Thanks to everyone for all of the info in this thread so far, and I hope your orders come really really soon!

Thanks man! Slim, compact head and you can’t see the back end at address! Pretty close to the size of my xforged 18s…maybe a touch larger but honestly much more pleasing.

Wow no kidding! I think seeing those pictures is gonna make a few people really glad they got the 225’s, though. I expected a little more meat on the top line given how progressive the soles seem to be. That being said, I agree that it looks pretty pleasing. Maybe just a touch too much offset for my eye but my 4-iron is coming two degrees weak so that might be just the ticket. Thanks for posting the pics!

hopefully not with the 223’s, then that trailing beveled edge is going to be even closer to the ground and playing as a wider sole as opposed to how they were designed.

Omg that 4i looks perfect to my eye! MP54 topline vibes… with a touch more offset.  Exactly what I wanted.

The back (the cavity) in that 4 iron remind me so much of the 919/921 Forged but then you look down on it and it does NOT look like a 919/921 Forged 😂

Ordered my 225 set on 12-20 from Carls Golf Land.  Sent message to them yesterday looking for an estimated delivery date.  They replied they just checked with Mizuno and they said they're in production and should ship next week.  🤞

Agree with this, I’m used to pre orders showing up before release date. But oh well.

That’s great news. I ordered mine on release day..Shafts and grips on back order. Could be June before they are in. I may have to just lay a backup set until then.

Ooo that PW is fantastic looking! Slightly rounded leading edge and toe, but still teardrop shaped, minimal offset, this is exactly what I was hoping for ordering a full set based off a 7i fitting.

Ordered my 225s on 12/9 with the IO 6.0 and MCC+4 Blue grips. My pro checked on them a couple days ago and said they're in line for production next week for shipping the following week. Was hoping I'd have them earlier of course, but I'm glad that it seems like Mizuno played the delay game pretty well in being able to get everyone's new sticks out to them right at or pretty soon after release date.

 

Love seeing everyone's new sets though!
