I for one am sick of hearing about Tiger Woods. One would think he's the only player competing this week.  Golf channel has gone full tilt "all-Woods all the time."

former GC host Kraig Kann once said TW doesnt move the needle , He IS the needle....if he plays and if he were to make the cut, we will see every one of his shots on Sunday even if is DFL...we will definitely see every shot he hits Thurs/Fri if he tees it up no matter what the rest of the field is doing

That’s what’s great about The Masters website. Watch the featured groups, go to Amen corner and watch ‘‘em go through, don’t have to just watch the golf channel..

Respectfully. I have been watching golf for a looooong time. One of the first tourneys my Dad took me to, as a kid, was to see Ben Hogan. Was a fan through the era where Arnie and Jack and Watson were in their prime. Saw Tiger blast on the scene and almost single-handedly transform this sport in a half dozen different ways. He is a once-a-generation athlete - almost a once in a lifetime one. 

 

He had a horrible accident. Almost lost his freaking leg. I doubted, for a bit, whether we'd even see him on Tour again. And somehow, in slightly over a year (which is nearly inconceivable) he appears to actually have a shot at playing on one of the toughest, most grueling (and historic) courses in golf.

 

If you can't understand why this is such a huge deal, why the coverage is obsessive, why he had larger crowds during a Monday practice nine than the final hole of many normal PGA Tour events do - then, at a fundamental level, you just don't understand professional golf.

And you won't need to. There will be multiple ways to watch the Masters. Multiple streams. If you want to watch Justin or Scottie or Rahm or Bryson (or whomever) you will not be prevented from doing so, and will be perfectly able to follow whatever groups you want. 

 

I, personally, do not consider it a curse that every shot Tiger takes will be broadcast. It may turn out to be a dud, or it could turn into one of the most amazing things we've ever watched. I still remember the 2008 US Open - 18 played on a Monday against Rocco. Trading volume on the New York Stock Exchange actually tanked, because so may traders were watching. Who, in any sport, can move the needle like that?

 

You will not be prevented from watching Rahm. I'm happy I'll be able to watch Tiger.
