2022 Callaway Rogue ST drivers (in-hand photos)

I got my shipping notification from UPS on Monday, from Monterey Mexico, Rouge Max LS was at my doorstep Tuesday afternoon in the Phoenix area. 

 

I was able to get it out on the range today. Initial impressions are great, I hit it side by side with my Epic Max LS. Sound is better, much more muted. Launch is defiantly lower, with a bit more run out, so I'm guessing a bit lower spin than the Epic. Distance appeared to be the same, need to mess around with the settings a bit more, swap out shafts as well to get it dialed in. I was fit for the Epic, ordered the Rouge without hitting a ball, pretty impressed to see the initial results.

Does Callaway usually ship product before release date? I’ve never pre-ordered a club from them before. I ordered through the retailer where I was fit, so I wonder if they’d release the club to me even if did come before release. Still a full 2 weeks away!

I ordered from a rep. Clubs usually show up early when I order from him.

Friend ordered one directly from Callaway on first day of pre-order. Got it this Tuesday.

got my MAX LS 2 days ago. Fairway and Rogue Pro irons are on there way.  Stuck in Louisville from the bad weather.  Monday delivery is my new date for delivery.

I was able to hit the LS yesterday in a simulator. For my skill level (13 hcp), it was too demanding, but when I hit it flush, I hit some of the longest drives I’ve ever hit. 

 

I’m usually satisfied with 250 total yards out of my drivers, but occasionally hit longer like everyone. I had several 280 yard shots in the 10 mins that I hit it.

A gentleman was hitting this Rogue ST Triple Diamond and the shaft broke and the head hit the wall and cracked.  He was a good player with a lot of pop.  Roughly 120mph CHS.

 

I post this pics to show the inside of the driver, not to shame Callaway or make a statement about their drivers.  For the record I've seen just about every brand have this happen at one time or another.  AND ESPECIALLY when the shaft breaks at the hosel sleeve.

 

It's interesting to see the sticky dollop of hotmelt in the club as well as the new jailbreak frame, and where the seam is that joins the crown to the body.

Delivery just landed. Along with a text from a friend about filling in for sim league tonight.

 

So, it looks like I'll have 3 trackman sessions this week.

 

The club looks great. Only slightly smaller than my Mavrik SZ TD gamer. In hand feels a bit lighter (unsurprisingly). Looking forward to seeing what the numbers look like now. Let the honeymoon begin...

I had a driver fitting this weekend.  Ended up hitting the Triple Diamond LS the best, sort of.  I was able to hit a Triple Diamond Tour head that was not the LS version.  It was AWESOME.  Different sound, and averaged 2 to 3 more mph ball speed and about 200 rpm more spin than the stock TD LS.  I was able to hit the new Ventus TR blue, and it too was fantastic.  I couldn't believe how well the TD Tour head behaved when I missed it on the toe.  My dispersion was also the tightest with the TD Tour head.  The Ventus TR was an S instead of my usual X and I liked it too.

 

In the end, I have my friend working on getting another non low spin Triple Diamond Tour head, but if he can't get one I will order a TD LS with he Ventus TR Blue in S.

Pre ordered my max LS about a week or so and it arrived today in store at GG. Can’t say I was expecting that but fired up to let it eat!

My son had a fitting yesterday - he went through the Stealth +, Cobra, Titleist, and Mizuno and then hit the Rogue ST Max LS - That head with a Tensei 1K Pro White 60X was amazing for him.  Consistent smash in the 1.47-1.50 range.  And it sounds amazing if I do say so myself.

Yes it was - He hits a pretty consistent slight fade and he was just nutting that thing. The interesting thing was the TD spun more for him all else being equal.

Ordered my rogue ls last week.  it was shipped Friday & on my doorstep Monday. Hit the Sim golf today with it. It feels great! It's 10 yrds longer then my 425 max. Not as forgiving. Consistently 2-4* lower launch with 2100-2200 spin. Nice soft baby draw. Had to weaken grip & lower the tee to get there. But it was working just fine. Can't wait to get outside with .

I wonder if Callaway prioritizes fulfillment of pre-orders in some way.  It seems like folks that pre-ordered through reps, or even just the Callaway website are seeing orders built and shipped very quickly.  I ordered through the retailer at my fitting on 1/28, and far as I know it has not shipped yet.  My order wasn't for anything exotic - MMT 60s, stock length, and grip.

That is interesting. I order end of last week and my driver is in production and should ship this week.

I originally ordered on the preorder date which was 1/21 I think?  I had to change the shafts on 1/25 because I ordered with the smoke red rdx but that shaft was backordered.  Driver and 3 wood are shipping out today.

I ordered my Max LS on 2/2 from my fitter and heard from them today that they’re expecting to ship out by 2/11. Can’t wait to get this baby in-hand

Just read a review on PIG, of the ST Max LS. Reviewer noted that it was the quietest driver he ever hit. Since I have an indoor simulator I'm trying to find the quietest head out there. Can anyone comment? Is the ST Max also the same sound, or different?

I think orders placed thru retailers sometimes get batched together, not sent daily to Callaway for processing.

Looks like Friday I may get out to try the new Max LZ, I must be getting old to have new sticks for3 days and just walk by them on the way out of the garage. I would love the have got them out already but it rained all day yesterday and work is just not letting me have any free time.

Just a heads up, I placed my order through callaway.com on 2/08/22. When added the club to my cart it said 1-2 weeks, so I placed the order. Now looking on my account it says shipping on 4/25-5/03.

Just spoke with callaway and they said they were hit hard and are backordered now.
