Anybody using CBX Zipcore wedges?

Selling my PXG 0311 Gen3 Gap wedge because the gapping is too big from the PW. Pretty sure I want to get a CBX Zipcore wedge to replace it. Any more feedback from those who are gaming them?

Have u ever tried the cbx 2?

I have been in love with the cbx line since the start.. I just put grips on my new cbx zipcore the other day..

Hope to get out in the next couple of weeks to try them out.. They look slightly smaller then my cbx 2

I seen. Difference between the orig and the cbx 2.. I can't see how they made the zipcore any worse

I bought the 56° but haven't had a chance to hit balls with it yet. My reaction from some living room swings is it has an excellent weight to it, I feel like I know where it is in the swing more than my previous 56°. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to hit up a golf dome, knock some rust off, and report back on feel.

Cavity back specialty wedges are just fun. Absolute pleasure to use them. My TM Hi Toes still have a little life in them but, a lot of new offerings out there in this market.

CBX2, Mack Daddy CBX, Ping Glide 3 / 2 and new 4 coming out soon. Lot's of wrenches to try but, everyone wants to bag Vokeys because of the "cool factor".

I went the opposite way and sold my SM8's and put a 52/58 CBX Zipcore combo with Modus 115 wedge shafts in the bag. So. Damn. Smooth. Feel like I can't miss. I have an MG3/Hi-Toe combo as well and I feel like those could be on the chopping block or I may re-shaft them to the Modus 125 wedge shafts and see what the heavier profile feels like.

What little testing I’ve seen done on them I’m very intrigued by the really low std deviation on speed, launch, spin, and carry. My short game is my strength and if I can eliminate deviations even more it will help scoring.

Switched from Vokey Wedgeworks high bounce 54 K grind wedge to the 54 CBX Zipcore and pleased so far with the purchase. The sole of the CBX is what really sold me as it is similar to the V-Sole on my Srixon irons. The performance out of the sand is fantastic and very forgiving.

The CBX is a great forgiving wedge but it does not spin as much as a Vokey. However it is good for bunkers and chip and run shots, also more forgiving on full shots compared to my Vokey's. Never thought I would switch from Vokey wedges. I am definately keeping my Vokey lob wedge however.

I recently picked up the RTX 4.0 56' 10/Mid and it has the same V-Sole design.

Haven't done anything other than chip off of a mat in my basement, but so far so good.

How do they play off tight lies around the green?

This time of year in Texas is nothing but dormant Bermuda. It's tight, especially when wet. I have zero problems with the CBX Zipcores.

I love the feel of my CBX Zipcore so much that I'm half tempted to replace my CBX2 52*.  That's my go club for most partial wedge shots between 30-100 yards.

As I play more with my CBX ZipCore 54*, I am finding this club to be really good

If they had a Full Face or Satin Finish, my CBX2 would have been replaced already

Pulling this thread back out. I just bought one and practiced a few hours in a field. I got the 48 to be my "pitching wedge" since my new set has a 43 PW.

I have px 6.0's in the irons and I'm wondering if I made a mistake and should get matching shafts? This one seems very light and I was able to easily move full shot with a draw but had a hard time time with a cut. Also on some of my 3/4 shots I hit a few off the hosel. Which might be just me be hasn't happened in a quite a while.

Other than that I like it so far. The bounce is higher than what I'm used to be seems good on full swings. I'm eventually going to get a new SW but no rush on that.

I'm just wondering if I should return and order with a different shaft before I cut this one down and regrip. It's longer shaft than my PW and need it actually fly a bit shorter as I'm gps measuring a little over 120 with it now.

What shaft is in your 48? The stock is the 115 dg so it shouldnt weigh that much different than your px.

Weird as you say it feels light but one of the uptick for me was the cbx zips felt heavier than the cbx2 both w stock shafts and with MMTs.

I have a few rounds in with my cbx zip core 50 and 54

The 54 seems to launch a touch higher and stop better..could be all in my head lol

They are smaller then the cbx2.. my buddy compared them to his cbx 2 and he thinks the cbx 2 are more forgiving..

I guess with the head being a little more compact there isn't as much real estate to hit..

One thing I do find is They feel heavier and I like that about them..I find it helps me get a little less flippy..

I had to had lead tape to my cbx 2 to help with the problem

I started with the original cbx all the way to the zip core

Think I’m going to pull the trigger on some CBX Zipcore wedges. Thinking about 48* @ 49*, a 56* @ 55*, and a 60* @ 59* and soft stepping the stock shaft. What’s the thoughts on guys who have them in the bag?

CBX Zipcore still hasn't been released in Australia and I need to replace my CBX 2 lob wedge with worn out grooves.

I see they have them on GolfBox and DG now.  Might pick one up.  Prefer the darker finish though.

Hit the CBX Zipcores versus the standard RTX with interesting results.

Both felt great and looked very similar down by the ball.  Only difference was a 50 degree CBX and the RTX was 52.  I would say the RTX was much more accurate and consistent in spin and dispersion.  The CBX was tended to go very slightly left as well.  Didn't notice any more offset on the CBX, but that was my experience hitting maybe 50 balls each in a bay.

Going back to the store on Tuesday to hit the 52 CBX against the 52 RTX.  They also had a RTX 56 mid in the black satin finish and a raw 60 degree  so I suspect three new wedges on the horizon.  I have been interested in the new Mizuno T22 wedges but alas they didn't have any.

The feel and forgiveness were great, and I enjoyed the Spinner shaft that comes as stock.  The real test will be on grass, but could definitely put both the CBX gap wedge and the RTX in the bag.
