May be time to get back on the Minjee bandwagon.  She's always been one of my favourites since she came out on tour.  Hitting it great but wasn't sure if her putter would hold up this week.  Hope she holds on and this can propel her forward a bit more (even more so than Evian last year).

I think if she wins here, she passes Lyds in the Rolex rankings.

To me, the ranking calculation is too volatile to make heads or tails out of it.  It is what it is, and not discounting any accomplishments players achieve (with it).  But over the last 6 months, year, or whatever I think there is often some sense of  #1, #2, Tier 1 followers, Tier 2 followers, etc just based on the "eye test" and the swings within a few spots are too influenced by recent results.

One thing that really surprised me when we were there was the amount of golf cart traffic  We really had to pay attention. Some of the drivers acted like the spectators were in their way. I’m pretty sure from my times at the Masters, Augusts has roads that are a bit hidden from spectators. A marshal told us the NBC people didn’t even stop for players while they were hitting.

Hard not seeing Minjee run away with this, even after Lexi's backing 9 last year.  Minjee looks to good right now and I'm not sure the course can get hard enough to cause Minjee any problems

I agree.  She's got the length and the fairways are so wide.  Hard to believe anyone can miss the fairways.

I like Minjee and would be happy if she wins but I'm kinda pulling for Mina.  She's been grinding on tour for so long without a win and they said she only had like $2k left in the bank account a couple of years back.  Would be great story if she can win.  Although coming in 2nd will still give her a big paycheck.

I should probably try to copy Minjee's balance . . . . instead of falling forward or sideways after my old man finish.

Yeah it's kind of like the FIFA or Tennis rankings , Sei Young is ranked way too high based on her play the last 12+ months, Shanshan is "retired" but she's ranked ahead of Andrea Lee, Lilia Vu et others. The JLPGA and KLPGA golfers are ranked generously too b

Funny you say that.   I agree.  But once  turn down 15-16-17 it’s a one way street with little room

Pretty crazy how poorly the morning wave of players played. Usually the high numbers come later in the day.

Really? There is a pretty easy explanation as to why the players that have shot the highest scores that tee off the earliest after two rounds continue to shoot the highest scores going forward. Hmmm........ Wonder why that is?

I agree 100%.  My wife and I were there Thursday and Friday and said the very same thing.  We got to a point where we wouldn’t move aside; they had to wait for us to pass or find a way around. It was ridiculous.

There were several instances where gas powered carts would pass a green and never check up to see if a player was putting.

In my group today, Lilia Vu had many 🐦 opportunities but failed to cash in. Couldn't get anything to fall even though many were in the 5-8' range. Again, my radio went dead after 12 holes.  I've been dealing with radios for 30 years and have never experienced this chronic malfunction with the equipment. On a high note, my gals finished their round of golf in <4 hours. 🤗

Tomorrow I'm with Amanda Doherty and Charlie Hull.

If it were up to Charley you could be off the course in 2 1/2 hours today.  Love how fast she plays.

Funny thing guy, some of these players weren't playing bad really. It wasn't a continuation of a downhill slide. But I doubt you took the time to notice that. So here's just a few second round and third round differences which are pretty large for a morning round, when most courses are ripe for scoring.

Lee6 70/77

Brittany A 69/77

Yuna Takagi 68/77

Lauren H 69/78

Na Rin An 70/76

Rose Z 71/75

I blame the curse of being picked by me in the contest.

I'm expecting a challenging setup today but it won't be brutal.  There will be rounds in the 60s, but also plenty of 75s.
