I tried a 7S in my TSr 2+ and hated it. It was my first venture into the red profile. Been a black player in all my woods for 2+ years and it just didn't work for me. 2 rounds with it and quickly back to the 1K Black stock shaft as it performed miles better for me but I am probably an outlier. It launched very high off the tee and I lost the extra distance of the 2+ because of the spin.  I couldn't see much benefit from the turf either. Also was a hook machine. I just don't fit the red profile and should have known that from previous tries with Atmos red and other soft tip shafts. On to the BST with this one soon and Black TR incoming for my driver.

Curious if the TR Red tip has the same firmness as the OG.  The Ventus Red 6X tip was very firm to me and there was no snap hook experiences with it.

Had a really good day last Wednesday with my TR black. For a shaft that is supposed to be very stiff. It does not feel boardy or harsh in the slightest.

Came to the conclusion that the Red TR feels too stout for me. But will keep it around for the time being.

Im going back to the Autoflex and going to focus on dialing in the right headweight with it.

Ok, I also found that it's a surprisingly stout shaft.

Got to game the Ventus TR Red 6S over the weekend and it was way too stiff for me, couldn't load it. For some reason the strikes moved very low in the face with the TR Red, so I had to tee it up and then it was a bit harder to find the sweetspot. The materials in the shaft make strikes feel very harsh for me (at freezing 39F) compared to my Tensei AV Raw Orange 55S that is working great for me that the moment. I have the 5S coming and a long trip ahead to warmer climates so maybe I'll find the groove with it over there.

Yes, both have some similarities, E.G. both are very butt stiff. I think the hulk is not as tip stiff and I found the hulk to spin a bit more. The Black TR feels more active, which I like.

Has anyone tried the Black TR 5S or 5X yet? That's the one that has piqued my interest.

I’ve got a couple of them.  Love them.  Used to play the previous Black 5X and 6X.  I do think the TR Black is a little better.  Has helped my dispersion.

I played a very windy round last friday and loved how this held its lines.

Played a Ventus Red TR 6X in a Stealth Plus head.  Felt great and didn’t go as high as the OG  Ventus Red 6X.  Really liked it and for someone who needs a little more spin and launch but not a lot, I think this would pair well for them.  Felt great in the swing ad well and not boardy or anything.

Shot my best round of the year yesterday. Also, hit 86 percent of the fairways. I, of course, did not hit the driver on all of those holes but I did hit a lot of drives. Some that I didn't think I hit all that well ended up really well.

Just have not had the chance yet. I am fairly certain I will.  Need Fuji to release a Ventus TR black iron shaft in the 115-120 gram range.. If they did, I could end up with Fuji shafts in every club in my bag.

I currently play the black 7tx in my driver.  On days where I’m not as loose as I can be, I find the tx to be a bit much to load.  I love that it takes the left side of the course out of play but considering something a tiny bit softer.  Would the tr 7x be a bit softer or too close to not make the change worth it?   Also considering a 6tx or 7x.

Edit:  would butt trimming .5 - 1 inch off the 7tx make a noticeable difference?

Can anyone out there who has had some runtime with TPO 1K compare it to any of the TR series? I had a Black 6TX prior to the 1K, and while it felt a bit boardy to me, it definitely took the left side out for me. The 1K is smoother to me and I've got more ball speed, but can lose it left from time to time. Would be interested in finding something in between.

FWIW, TR black feels smoother in 6X and doesn’t seem to be impossible to turnover.

I actually got into a Club Champion today and got to hit it and agree with you. Smoother than the OG 6TX and just as good as my TPO1K. I could definitely feel the difference in the handle between the two. 1K still gave me a bit more club head speed for some reason.

I’m a long time OG Black 6x guy. Tried the TR black 6x and it’s definitely too stout for me. Tried 6S tipped an inch and is more like the OG 6x to me. I’m a pretty hard loader but hang around 110mph

Same here. 6x all last year. Took good advice and went 6s. Still not right. The handle is sooo much stiffer that it just felt like rebar to me. Lost some distance too on really good strikes. Not a fitter by any means but the TR are different animals. I’m stuck on a 1K Black and White right now but if I go back to Ventus it will definitely be the OG. I’ll be really interested in seeing how many pros make the switch in the off season after being able to work with their fitters.

Hi, did you tip your TR? I think I’ll get a black 6X, but am overthinking tipping 1/2” or 3/4”. I loved the og 7x though.

Or what is anyone tipping (if any) this thing? Bonus points for black as I understand many are for red already.

Bumping this question since I'm curious. I've got an uncut Black TR 7X to build with for a short/heavy driver (44.5", D4).

My Tensei 1K Black 75TX is tipped 1/2" and the various Diamanas I've tried so far have all been tipped at least 1/2". I'm thinking it would make sense to go for 1/2" tip trim on the TR.

What shaft in the TR line would be close to the Kai’li White?

I’ve got the 60tx Kai li tipped 1” I played for the last year or so and an untipped 6x TR black.  I tested a 7tx Ventus blue tr for a while also.   The blue 7tx felt most similar to the Kai li white 60tx in the way it loaded but it swung very heavy in the driver.  It didn’t swingweight particularly high but it took some serious effort to move. 6tx tr blue would probably feel similar with different performance.

performance wise, my launch and spin numbers are almost identical with Kai li white vs tr black 6x.  Black 6x has a stiffer feel at impact.  It’s not hard for me to flush a shot with the tr black and then immediately flush the next swing with the Kai li white, without changing anything else with the club.  All that to say, if you hit the Kai li white well you’ll be able to hit the tr black equally well I would imagine.    The tr black is only about 1/3 of a SW point lighter but the balance of both shafts feels identical to me.  (Sometimes two matched SW won’t feel anything alike I.e. PX vs DG).  Just a stiffer feel with Ventus tr, which helps some people.

I will agree with everyone that the black tr6x has a different feel than the old Ventus black 6x and I am able to time it better then the original because of the “smoother” load sensation.  However, if you just lean on the original black to bend it, the TR black feels much stronger.
