2021 T100. Look like blades, incredibly forgiving. Best iron I’ve played. Kicked out the ZX7s.

I have those exact irons and (if not for knowing the grooves eventually wear out) I'd gladly play them for the rest of my life. No temptation to change them at all. There's nothing a different set could possibly offer to my game.

There have been two other sets of irons that, in retrospect, I could have been happy with forever and ever if the dreaded GAS urge had not sent me off looking for greener grass on the other side of the fence.

In 2012-2103 I had a set of Ping G20 irons. Super, super, super game improvement. Almost fat-shot-proof, easy to hit. I think even today a 20-25 handicapper (as I was at the time) could do a lot worse than G20.

And then after a brief time with G30, I went with Ping G irons for a couple years. Wonderful irons, my first set with hot faces that let me hit those high, reduced-spin midiron shots like all the modern clubs do now.

But no regrets. I GAS'd my way through a lot of interesting brands and models of irons before making my way to the T100. For as compact looking as they are, and as easy to handle on little chip shots around the greens, they are high and straight hitting with solid distance. Just an outstanding design for a mid-teens handicapper with traditional taste in clubs. But I think they'd be great for a 5-handicap who just wants to hit the ball straight or for a 20-handicap who doesn't want to go to an extreme with bulkiness.

Assuming durability was no issue and you could keep the grooves fresh, re-finish, etc. I'd probably go with either my '88 Apex Redlines or early 2000's Mac PCB Tours.  I like the shape of the Mac's a little more and the Miura feel is the real deal but they have just a touch more offset than I prefer.  Both are just classic IMO and I'd gladly look down at them for years and years to come.

I couldn't kick the AP2 712 out of my bag for such a long time. It was then AP2 718 and after those were worn out, ZX7. My current set of ZX7 are probably going to stay awhile - they are awesome.

Forever?

Forever ever?

Forever ever?!?

Just thinking of the irons that have lasted the longest in the better players bags I know around here. Ping i-blades,  X-tours, Taylormade RSI’s, AP2’s, Ping Anser Forged, X-20 tours… All better player irons with a little tech for their time. So maybe thats a good starting point at least. Good luck!

Man I've had my eye on a set of these irons and it's taking all kinds of restraint not to pull the trigger.  I've never hit a Miura in my entire life but those CB-57's look legit.

I haven't been able to find a 7, 8, and 9 Iron that can remotely compete with them.

Still playing my "forever" irons in the Bridgestone J40 DPCs. Comboing with the J40 CB is cool, but I could easily live with the just the DPC forever.

For Me it would be the jpx 921 forged. It literally has everything you can want and fits a broad range of handicap levels.

You want feel you have it. You want distance you have it. You want forgiveness you have it. You want looks you have it.

I have tied my career low and subsequently shot my lowest round ever as a 2 under par 70 since buying these irons and this is only with eight rounds on them.
