I also just tried this driver and I can't get over the interesting sound it has. Very noticeable on the range.

Heavy weight forward vs heavy weight back makes a HUGE difference in this driver. To me it sounds awful with the heavy weight forward but swapping it around makes all the difference in the world. I need the weight back in mine plus I’ve had 5g of hotmelt added back and slightly toe side. It sounds so good now. Plus this driver just flat out performs. When flushed, it’s longer than any other driver I’ve tried. Low misses which is my usual miss aren’t punished too bad at all. It’s a beast!

The TS4, TSi4, and TSR4 are all long. They aren’t as forgiving but I was hitting the Tsi4 about 10+ yards further than  the 3, which was going 10 yards further than my current club at the time. I almost regret not getting it but just couldn’t get 3 consistent shots out of it and mishits were really bad.

As I sit here still on the mend from wrist surgery I think about the comments people say about the head being too small on the 4 and terrible forgiveness. So I went out and grabbed my Nike vr pro limited 10.5 head off shelf in garage and stuck an old shaft down in it and remembered how amazing it looked. The 4 is same size with 10+ years of technology in the face compare to the Nike and I love that thing. I think the 4 will be just fine 🍻

I wonder how many people that say the 4 is too small and unforgiving also say they are more accurate off the tee with their fairway wood...

Yes definitely a different sound with the weights swapped. It sounded too hollow; like the previous generation of drivers. But totally with on the performance. It does what is advertised!

I’m finding the tsr4 is going to be the ultimate head for a shorter playing length set up.

My son confiscated my Ventus blue shaft. He’s playing high school golf and hits it well in his TSi2 so I let him have it. I went back to a IZ in my TSR4 that I had used previously. Feel is amazing and maybe even picked up a couple yards with it playing at 45.5 instead of 45 with the Ventus. Unless you have a ton of speed, I think the head really benefits from a higher launch shaft.

Interested if anyone has compared the 4 with a blue TR versus AD-DI ?

Yes actually but it was awhile ago. I think loft is the important factor. TR Blue was lower launching for me (or AD-DI was higher) became a bit of a feel preference but I still have better dispersion with a Ventus.

I kept trying high end shafts, had mixed results with Ventus Red and AD DI, got my RDX black back from a buddy, took it out today, absolutely money, hit one bad drive all day.

Just had a fitting with Titleist and was also surprised to get put into the 8* TSr4. I've been gaming a 8* TSi3 and for sure thought I'd end up in the 3 again, or maybe even the 2. But I had the same experience as others on this thread that the 4 was somehow more forgiving than the 3. Heel strikes didn't spin up as much. Seemed easier to square up overall. However, I'm worried about the toe strikes, as that's what kept me away from the 4 models in the past.

Was just fitted into the TSR4. Been playing my TSi2 for a couple years so figured I’d be fit into it again. I have a slightly steep AOA and the TSR4 actually helps keep the spin down. Paired with the right shaft in the fitting and the thing is more forgiving than my tsi2 was. Never would have thought the TSR4 would’ve been what I get fitted into.

We finally got some warm weather, was able to get loose and back to feeling a full swing, the Ventus Red is in to stay, misses are just smaller, love the launch, was surprised at distance on a few today , was only 60*, love this driver

After reading this thread, decided to buy a TSR4 head off the BST and paired it up with an old Tour AD TP 6x I had laying around. Came from TSi3 with Tour AD XC 6x. This driver is really something else. In 6 rounds with it, I think I’m close to 80% in fairways hit. It’s probably not as long as my old setup (the XC has some serious horsepower), but I’m finding myself in play more often and my scores have reflected it. I was nervous about this driver not being forgiving, but now I’m just so confident with it I step up and make a confident swing. Also absolutely love the looks of it from address.

For me, the TSR4 is the best driver I've ever hit. For it to be he least forgiving of the TSR range is amazing.

I am a high launch, high spin player and I could not be happier with the TSR performance. The look from address is better than the TSi and forgiveness levels blow me away. I've not hit the TSR3 in comparison but I can't imagine it being any better. I couldn't tell you my SG stats with this driver but it must be way up from previous years. 2022 was a terrible for year for me with the driver having tried the Stealth, G425, TSi4 and Rogue. The TSR4 is here to stay!

Still loving my TSR4 with the UB. High launch high spin player. I still hit it pretty high but the 4 head and the UB keep spin down. Hitting a lot more fairways, great distance, and it’s surprisingly forgiving.

The bad miss is the no spin toe hook that pops out every couple of rounds but the consistent performance keep it in the bag. I’m always looking at at testing things but I have seen nothing that comes close for me at this point. I think it’s funny because at the local store the guy said “no Tour players are really playing the 4, and there’s a reason why, so you’re definitely leaving something on the table”. I’m not a tour player and play what works for my game, so laughed and shrugged it off. Thought that was funny.

tldr: still loving the tsr4

I upgraded from a 915D3 to a TSR4 recently and I am very pleased.  The head is more forgiving than I anticipated and it is long.  I am hitting it in places I haven’t seen since my college days.  I bought it on a whim and have never hit the TSR2 or 3.  Love the sound and feel.  I did switch the weight to the back before I ever hit it and have never tried it in the front.

The TSr4 is probably the most underrated driver of the year because of the stigma surrounding it. However, I hit it side by side with other “more forgiving” drivers and see no difference. Bad swings with any driver equals bad results. But hit the TSr4 close to the middle and it’s plenty forgiving. It’s safely in my bag for the year.

what stigma?

That smaller drivers are harder to hit and not even tour pros are playing it so why should up hacks play it 🤣
