After a lot of testing, went to do a final fit/lesson. TD 8deg with +1 seems to rally sit nice and pairs best with the autoflex.

Now the wait begins as I’m hearing the 8 degree heads don’t come for a while.

You dog!  I’m trying to find an 8 and would love to pair it up with the AutoFlex or possibly the FreeFlex I’ve got coming.

The KaiLi White's EI profile is more akin to what we've come to associate with the OG Diamana Blue, which is a practically linear loss of stiffness** from handle to tip. Tensei AV White is more of a "stiff mid" profile. KW is stiffer in the handle, the TAVW is stiffer in the middle, and KW is a touch stiffer in the tip.

Best way to think of Kaili White is actually as more of an OG Diamana Blue with a stronger tip section. From a feel perspective, IMO it has much more in common with previous MCA Blue shafts than White ones. If you get along well with the softer handle/stiff mid like Tensei Pro or 1K in Orange and White, KaiLi White may not be your jam at all. Personally while I don't hate KaiLi White, I don't jive with it like I do shafts with a softer handle and mid stiffness bump.

**This is what's really being referenced when the term "smooth profile" is correctly used. It gets wrongly tossed around in reference to shafts that don't feel boardy because of having excessively low torque.

It’s strange because I’m a whiteboard or bust since the OG flowerband, Alina, tour green, tensei pro white, nippon tour 120…..etc.  HATED all blue boards but absolutely love the kaili white. I actually just put it in 3/5 wood over the Ventura black which I liked as well. Has just a hair of kick but nice solid feel off the face because of the strong tip I guess. Doesn’t feel like the blue boards at all, it’s actually kid of unique and to me feels like the modus 120 iron shaft which is also unique

I feel ya; great example of the importance of fitting (which at times comes down to trying stuff with the fitter acting as a tour guide of sorts). Sometimes a player and I arrive at solutions that, on paper, are a departure from past preferences and trends but the results are too good to discount. The academic solution and what the ball is clearly saying don’t always jive the way they seemingly should because the human variable in the equation is just that; a variable. Really don’t know to certainty if something will great awful or indifferent until you hit it.

Not to derail too much but this is where the Diamana ZF or GT get interesting.  They really do blend the blueboard whiteboard profiles so nicely.  For me, that translates into feeling more power into the strike.  Also play the modus shafts.   Love whiteboards

A buddy was getting fit at a local shot a few weeks ago, I met over there and was hitting some of the new drivers.  The Paradym TD 8* was giving me great numbers, 1900-2100 spin across the face and good dispersion.  I gamed the MAX LS and the Stealth + last year, PTD is hot, just gives out some serious bombs.

I got an 8* Paradym TD from eBay a few weeks ago from a reputable seller for $550 (included shipping), been great out on the course.  It is definitely low spin, granted I am playing it at 6*.  Easy fades have been low spin still carrying around 280-300.

I am playing it in a Tensei Orange 1K 60X at the moment, I like some feel in the shaft.  I have a Kai'li 70X, Kai'li 70TX, Diamana BF 50X, Ventus Red TR 5S (prolly to soft but still curious..), Brava S, Brava X to still do some testing with on course and range to see if any stand out.  Will be testing at the range today.

The head is pretty low spin all across the face so I am hoping some of the lighter mid-spin shafts will pair well with it.  Tempted to grab another AutoFlex, but I will wait to hear others experiences with that.

Overall the head is low spin across the face and its actually stilll forgiving.  I hit toe shots that I would expect to be 2 holes left and they end up middle fairway, for me I haven't had the extremely low spin shots on course that knuckle out, yet...   If I start too, I will throw the weight in the back or loft up.

Overall impressed.  And all that said I did hit the G430LST on trackman and it was automatic 5-10 yard fades but in the 2500-2900 range, if I were a smarter man I would likely game that.

ZF/GT is essentially a classic "stiff mid" MCA White/Ventus Black profile in the tip and and mid but the handle stiffness is more akin to Blue profiles. There's noticeably less sensation of loading at the transition from backswing to downswing with ZF/GT than things like Tensei White/Orange.

Back to topic at hand; sorry (but not THAT sorry) for the shaft bunny trail.

GC quad had been showing me some rather alarming results in the dynamic lie I've been delivering with driver recently which was causing me some difficulty with consistently hitting intended start lines. That in mind, spent some time yesterday afternoon hitting the Paradym X with my trusty Ventus Black 6x, and suffice to say I got along with it much better than I expected. The more upright lie angle is likely to bother many, but no kidding I hit 10 in a row that were full-on "fitting stoppers." Will concede that the X doesn't have quite as much distance potential as the TD, but for me it did help sort out a slight but annoying push tendency caused by not having the dynamic loft too flat. Shot traces were so on top of each other it was comical. Being able to free-wheel like that is awfully fun...(no kidding, eh?)

Got a round scheduled for in the morning at one of the longer goat tracks and will give the TD's a go with the Kali white in all to start then plug in the UB 6s in the driver and see how that goes on the back nine. I have two new OEM fairway adapters that are supposed to be here today, if they show up I will install them on the AD DI 8x and UB 7s to have those options to try. Looking forward to see how the Driver stacks up to rogue on the same course, with a little luck I will see some new landing areas a bit further out.

I'm planning on the same thing. I took my 505x to a demo day and the highest spin number I got with PTD combo was 2600. That was with a sub-optimal set up playing 46.25" and probably at least D5. The fitter was busy trying to upsell me into a Ventus Blue for a fair part of the session so I only got to hit about 6 shots with the AF. He'd come out with stuff like 2600 is too high and you're getting almost as good results with the Ventus which I was having to work harder to deliver.  But that was enough to know that AF has great potential. I'm hoping to be able to pick up a head as the shaft choices are more limited here in the UK, no BF / ZF for $115, no kaili blue until May, generally pushing the Hzrdus line. Then let the fun begin, you've definitely got to be careful not to go too low spin with this, reminds me a bit of the old TP510 head

Its official the Kali white 6S in the Driver is a NO go, just felt way too soft and unless I babied it it was left. Definitely also swing related and when I did just smooth it is long, but the GD AD UB 6s in going in for the weekend without any doubt. I forgot it this morning and played the whole round with the Kali, as long as I aimed right and let it turn over I saw the fairway. But a couple of wounded ducks were humbling and I just don't have a smooth swing to start with.

Oddly the Kali white in the FW's are good, still have to smooth it but the launch is very nice and they are longer than the Rogue's even lofted up a bit.

I’ve always said the Cally heads are the easiest of all the OEM’s to be able to dial in with the AF.  Have to think that combo will be very nice and produce some of the longest and straightest shots once you get the weight set.

I had the same experience.  Kai'li in driver felt very tip soft......felt fine in the fairway woods.  Made me wonder how the driver would play tipped 1 inch.

The only thing I haven’t done is test outdoors but the AF does seem to be made for this head. This is the shaft I used with my epic speed, and I did not need to change anything with it. I don’t know the weight difference between the two heads but the AF seems to fit the new head better than the old one, and agreed that it is a killer combo, the two compliment each other.

Usually about 194g.  Could be plus or minus a gram or 2 but they usually come at 193 to 195g.

I got mine in yesterday and I measured it at 193.2g.  I swapped out the stock 2g weight for a 6g weight I had from back in the Epic Flash days to hit my desired swingweight.

So, I ordered my club at 45 inches from Callaway and called to request the swing weight be kept at standard. I asked how they'd do it and if I could specifically request a heavier movable weight to achieve it. I was told no, but they would add this to the notes per my request. The head weight was not adjusted so when I received it and put my Tensei 1K white in the swing weight is too light. I called them to ask if the adjustment was made to my custom request. I was told "it should have been" but could get no answer as to how or if it was actually done. I asked for the heavier weight so I could bring up the swing weight and was told no, we don't send those out separately. Just a bit frustrated with Callaway and not sure what to do to get the swing weight correct. Their only solution was return the club for a refund... I'm assuming they tip weighted the shaft for swing weight but they had no idea if or how the club was adjusted per my request.

Pretty damn shameful. If they're going to charge a ridiculous amount for a single a club then the buying experience and customer service better be amazing.

Ya but expecting any major OEM besides Ping or Titleist is a total crap shoot. If I wanted something (even this simple) from Cally, I would go through a "Cally component" dealer like "tour van"... When Cally moved their production facility to Mexico everything went to hell. You best bet is call you local rep and see what he can do. I personally would slap lead tape on it and move on.
