Any Scotty Cameron 2023 News?

Massive fail not putting out black. I'd happily buy a newport 2+ reg color if they had a top dot though, otherwise I'll have to pass.

Zoom in on the Faxon putter picture posted above. Looks like there's something on the top line. Also anyone notice the sight line in the flange looks like it has no paint fill at all just like the cherry bombs in the cavity.

Think that’s just water from the dew — he mentions dew lines in the post

Unless there is a different release, I was literally at Titleist in Oceanside yesterday and watched them assemble them...it was the same stainless, not black or gunmetal. I only saw the Newport+ but I assume they're all the same.

The changes in the neck look like what I saw, they removed some weight by milling out a pocket in the neck. Again, I only saw the NP+ so I'm not sure if that's the same in the other models.

Damn that's kinda cool

I’m not going give a pep talk that has no basis to support - but I am taking a second to appreciate that to my knowledge we have seen a ~30 second dimly lit teaser and the comments/reactions have overwhelmingly been to the effect of this being a colossal mistake/wasted opportunity - with several committing to not purchase as a consequence.

Black would have been great.  Even nixing the big bombs and putting script Titleist would have been a winner

Why would SC ever release a black putter ever again in the normal lines when he knows he can charge extra for black finishes and people will gladly pay for it?

More profit in volume than limited releases possibly.  Also the fact that Ping is releasing much more attractive milled putters nowadays.  The black Anser and Anser 2 with black graphite shafts are really nice.

I expect these to be identical to the jet set lines, just in stainless color.

It’s hard to tell but I think Faxon has a NP2 in that photo and it has a flange line. I wouldn’t hold your breath for a top line in a OTR model. If he does it’ll make a lot of people happy but I feel like he will reserve that for limited runs and circle T’s.

No way Cameron release threads involve real people. No way, got to be bots. It’s the exact same comments in every thread haha. Am I real??

Surprised to hear this. I thought I was one of the only ones who like the 6. Even Ping rarely makes a B-back style (B 60) any more.

If it’s faxons photo putter, this is super disappointing.

Why? Back to old cherry bombs, no hideous pre-stamped bumpers, and no paint fill so you can do whatever you want.

based on his recent OTR releases this is the cleanest it’s ever been.

Yep I think you're exactly right, very observant. I came to the same conclusion that it's probably just dew. Seeing it's early morning & he mentions dew lines. Just wanted to throw it out there for confirmation.

Yeah I'm with you on the fact that I immediately noticed cherry bombs had no paint fill and we all know why, to help promote his custom shop or diy.

It's not a bad thing, but I think what a lot are is saying is we're tired of the cherry bombs altogether I mean who wants a putter that never changes the cherry bombs in the cavity can you imagine if your new driver had the same crown or face that you cannot change and is not aesthetically pleasing and busy looking.

I'm not really not sure what's old about these cherry bombs they look to be the same ones as the special select but with no paint fill.

You can pick any color of the rainbow to fill, but you sure as heck can't do a full delete. So blue versus red or something.

I don't think this putter is a loss though! I think it's a beautiful shape, most aesthetically pleasing overall shape to my eyes with the thinner Top Line and overall weight reduction of any Cameron. I'll happily tell you I'm grabbing one as soon as they come out because this is the most forgiving best shaped putter he's ever made, how about that to change the tone!

And everyone else here knows damn sure they're going to try it out in the golf stores, most will add it to the bag or bring it home for a while to putt on the carpet before you can resell it and get all your money back out. Safest investment there is in golf. Besides maybe a lesson from someone competent.

No, no that's not the only thing people at WRX are reacting to at all you see... The "30 second teaser" which was only about 10 seconds of actual product, was in fact not the reaction, but the confirmation!

The confirmation of the leaked putter from this new line by a man named Brad Faxon a great putter, A Scotty Brand enthusiast, collector, and someone who's close enough with Scotty to get his hands on anything he wants including the new prototype OTR....

You have seen the leak? Hell man, we live in a day where even the most secretive government agencies can't keep leaks from springing including the president and FBI .

The leak, Which just so happens to identically match the new never before seen anywhere else but the leaked pictures neck design we saw in the teaser... I don't think we need to call in Sherlock Holmes for this one bud.... combine that with Scotty's tendencies and again....

oh, and not to mention the gentleman above who just toured the Titleist facility where these are being produced in the past few days and saw these on the production line. He described exactly what we saw in the leaked pictures and even gave us added info as to what color the head covers will be Gray with red script. If you think of 30 second teaser is all we have you obviously haven't been paying attention.

I will throw this out there though, what if Faxon just had a recently finished prototype without any paint fill added, eh?

Still won't change much for most...

I'll tell you what though if that is the case I think I prefer it clean, no fill!

With that said people do tend to overreact, I'm not immune. But it's not from lack of information.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been tempted to give mine an acetone bath then drill in just a small alignment dot on the top and fill it black.

I hope SC doesn’t read these threads. 🤣

I hear ya.

Scotty knows all about acetone baths. That's how he used to get the white paint fill on Tiger's grips out so the "PingMan Logo" wouldn't be as prominently seen on his custom NP2 putters...

I wouldn't do it unless I knew it would turn out looking like OEM perfection.

But you may get your wish minus the site dot. Which, let's be honest, is the most important.

I got to tell you though in the Brad fax and picture there's no paint fill in the flange site line. I don't think Scotty would ever leave the flange line without paint fill.

Though, I think it's possible Brad Faxon showed us the New NP2 heads before they had chosen the paint fill. Hope the bombs stay blank.

Do it..... sounds like you could sell it for a kazillion dollars when you get tired of it or it betrays you.

Never mind.....no COA from the Scotty Shop. 😎

I wouldn't buy a newer Scotty without the cherry bombs, I want to know why you have to kill and bury kings and queens to get Scotty grips !!

Apparently there’s a SC version of the PP58, but I get more of a chuckle at paying $9.99 for them. The NP2 needs to be reminded whose idea that design was to begin with.

Yes. The "Studio Design" is Cameron's version of the Pingman PP58 pencil grip that came on all the original Ansers. We all know Scotty's Studio Design Grip was modeled exactly after the PP58.

I've got half a dozen Putters with each grip. I prefer the Sudio Design, especially on a Cameron putter, but I'll never mistake that the original was made by ping 30 years earlier and they are basically interchangeable twins. Like tiger, I've always called the pp58 and Studio Design grips, "Pencil Style Grips".

That's truly how they feel in the hand these days after using Super Strokes.

I Really Enjoy the Studio Design/PP58 Pingman. Tons of feel, not mushy. I've gone back to them because everything old is New Again at some point eh?

On a side note after 1000 years, Tiger has changed putter grips to the Slightly larger non tapered Pistolini Plus in blk no paint fill like usual. Basically the Big Brother of the studio design in pistolini.

Retro cool. I haven’t found anything I like better in the past 25+ years. I think that’s why I messed with the length on my putter so much, that grip fits in my hands one way and one way only.
