Any Scotty Cameron 2023 News?

I just want a Newport without site lines, dots for any alignment aid.  I'm weird I know. But I like plain.

Buy a Studio Stainless NP Beach (‘02-‘04). No flange line or top line alignment aid, no insert, clean face with subtle “Titleist” stamp on the heel. Classic “Cameron” with crown stamp in the back cavity. Still my favorite putter he’s ever released to the public, but I’m a bit nostalgic anyway, I suppose.

The black mist finish was fine until it literally wore away, so I’ve soured on the idea of black putters, even if finishes have improved since the Select releases.

I’ve played the majority of the NP/NP2‘s released in the last 15 years, but for my money, he was at his best from ‘02-‘07. I’ll always have a soft spot for the Studio Stainless, Studio Style, Studio Design, Circa 62 lines… So I would love it if he started trending more towards the “retro” lines rather than designing space ships.

Yet, here I am, still checking for daily updates on the new releases.

We are here because we like Scotty Camerons.  A lot of us just want something cool like Scotty used to make - a clean, industrial design.  The cherry bombs are played out full stop.  Love that he mills them in US, but that has nothing to do with design.

uploaded some files.  We are just asking for a putter like the Ping with Titleist, Acushnet or Cameron in the cavity.  Titleist is known for clean, timeless design.  No reason the putters can’t be that way again.  After 15 years it’s time to bring it back.

Bottom is my baby. Love that thing, “cherry bombs” and all.

I said that in reference to people complaining about them being overpriced. Sure I’d like them to stamp Titleist in the cavity or go back to some older designs. But I understand that they’re making smart business decisions. The cherry bombs are free advertising, everybody knows it’s a scotty when they see them. Take a poll of the golf community or everyone who owns a scotty and the answer is going to come back pro cherry bombs. It doesn’t make sense for them to go away from that from a business stand point and at the end of the day they’re a business maximizing profits.

I had one. It was stolen!!!

Can Cameron drill holes for weights on this putter?. The head was a little light if I remember.

There’s only one way to find out and that’s try the clean look again.  It’s not the end of the world if the new release is busy.  I still some old school, clean carbon Scotties to game

Picked up a new old stock just incase I don’t like the new release. This milling is only reserved for tour putters now anyways.  😊

Still gaming the 2.5, I don't believe any of the SC releases since come close.

I'm curious what grip he's going with for the Newport/Blade line...Size wise, I'd love to see him stick with the Pistolini Plus. Color is up to him although I prefer black over Gray.

Also haven't heard anybody speculating on what the name of the new line is going to be...

"Teryllium Two, Classics, & Oil Cans" Prior-1998

"Pro-Platinum" 1998

"Pro Platinum Mil-Spec" 1999 -2001

"Studio Stainless" 2002-2004

"Studio Style"       2005-2007

"Studio Select"     2008-2011

*"Select"                 2012-2019

* The "Select" Name Stays The Same Through 4 Different OTR Releases.

It's very  possible this stays as the Special Select?! Since the design/shape doesn't appear to be updated very much.

And that's a good thing. Leaving out any Font, Bombs, or Script and imo it's his best aesthetical shape in a long time, maybe ever.

Its called the Super Select and someone here said the grip is the Pistolini Plus with the same hex pattern as the 22 Phantom but "scotty cameron" in red.

One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will

I have no dog in this fight.  Bought two PLDs last year and have about 7 Camerons.  Curious how they feel cheap?  Milling is nicely done and it’s a solid chunk of 303.  The steel shaft on my DS72 is much more solid than the whippy single bend in the Phantoms.  Plus I like the firmness of Ping’s graphite shaft as well.  The milling is a little deep for my tastes but you can’t win them all. At this point I wish Scotty would copy Ping.  Build a PLD Anser 2 clone - black head, clean graphics, no bombs or bright colors, true tri-sole and high quality black graphite shaft.  I think that’s the blade I’m going to pick up this year if I get one.  I’ll stop rambling now…

When the putter makes contact my personal feel and opinion with pld is it feels very light and plastic-y as if the ball will barely even roll out. Feels almost exactly similar to some of the Cleaveland putters of a few yrs ago. Thats my opinion on them. I actually think the new ping 23 putters feel wayy more expensive and better then the pld. I agree though i think the plainer a scotty is the better. I dont mind the dots but i do think its time for a change. I also agree when you see the dots you know what putter that is lol the one thing i hate is when his name is blasted all over the putter. There has to be a better way then blasting it on all sides of the putter. Thats why the 18 is the one i bought.
