What is the best fairway wood from past 5 years?

A little off-topic but anyone know why Cobra dropped the baffler rails on their fairway woods?

 

Had an F7 5W years ago and that thing just worked. Ugly but it was very difficult to hit fat from the fairway so I loved it. Should have kept that thing and always check out the used club section of any big box store I visit, hoping to find one in good shape.

For all around performance I think the TSR2 or TSI2 line is super hard to beat.

I still absolutely love my Cobra Rad 3 wood. Won it as a pin prize, and it hasn't been anywhere close to getting replaced since.

My TSR2 driver is the best I’ve had in years so it wouldn’t surprise me the fairways are good. I’ll put a vote in for the Paradym 7 wood I got last year - it’s a beast.

Have tried the OG Sim Ti, Mizuno STZ, TSi2....all very good most of the time. However the Mizuno STZ 230 is very good all the time, its really a pity since it was a surprise buy on a whim whilst I spend a lot of money getting fit for the TSi2. Went through a short honey moon with the Pings until I realized that I hate the shallow faces.

Haven't read through the entire thread, but predictably it seems just about all the major fairway woods have much been been mentioned.

 

All these "best" threads typically end up the same.

 

Not saying anyone is right or wrong, but when someone starts one of these are they really expecting some sort of clarity?

The original TM RBZ was a banger for me and the Nike Vapor Speed was amazing too….the sound and feel were waaaay ahead of their time.

I still game Nike.  My 3 wood is a Vapor 2-dot and my 5 wood is the Covert with the red head.

the AIS TD 3 wood is incredible.   Big fan of a few of the woods mentioned here (notably the OG SIM 3w and the Mavrik 3w) but AIS TD 3w is even better.  Now if I could get an adjustable AIS TD 5w that would be great. (I realize the AIS line didn't exist when this thread was created).

I'm really getting along nicely with a TSi3 3 wood that replaced a TS2 4 wood I really liked. It seems like it's not for everyone but when properly fit, this thing is nails! Bomber off the tee, strong flight off the deck, and I've found it much more forgiving than I expected.

 

I also played a RadSpeed in a tournament once when the adapter on my TS2 broke. The RadSpeed is a really nice, friendly fairway wood. I wouldn't hesitate to game one.

Callaway UW gen 1- easy to flight and workable. Great distance even with the shorter shaft

 

If you don’t count the UW as a wood then I’d say the flat designs of the Ping 410&425 have been the best and most neutral. More spin helps and so does their Orlimar/Adam’s style design 
 

TM makes good stuff but everything looks closed to me. Especially their M6, SIM Max type of woods. Everything hooks for me. Haven’t tried much callaway stuff outside the UW and a couple tour issued TD that also seemed a little closed to me

Received my OG UW 17 one week ago and my quest for perfect 3 wood is now over. That thing is absolutly incredible.
So easy to hit, workable high/low, perfect for tee shot and off the turf, low spin bomber.
Paired it with 85gr shaft, money!!!

Would have been Mavrik sub zero until the Qi10 tour found me. I was not hoing for a few years but apparently the stealth+ & stealth 2+ have the same incredibly easy launch. If your a piss missle guy with fairways try one of these. You will see it is different immediately.

I'm sure "best" means something different for everyone. But the best fairway woods for me have been the Callaway mavrik max. Easy to launch and fly straight.

TS2 is a really good fairway. I have it in a backup bag, but find the TSi2 to be even better which I use mainly.

 

The best fairway is the one you can hit comfortably. For me, I could only ever hit Titleist and PING well, so I'll admit I'm biased towards them.

For anyone who is getting older, and shall we say a little swing speed challenged, is the TSR1, but not with the super light 40 gram shaft, an option?  Say a 60 or 70-gram shaft?

Distance the Srixon ZX is awesome but not very forgiving. Overall tough to beat the Ping G425 or G430
