Is anyone more annoying than Colt Knost?

Not a fan. TV commentary is not podcasting.

 

We don’t require constant chit chat. We can see the images. It’s OK to be silent and let the pictures tell the story.

 

I also am not big on the fanboying that seems to have infiltrated a lot of commentary. Colt is not alone in this regard

The members (trolls) that come out of the woodwork for the majors threads are to me more annoying than Colt Knost. So the answer is yes 😊

I have to agree...annoying.  I have tried to rationalize it but I can't.  I have said " he will grow into it".  But maybe not.  He started on the golf course badda-binging....then progressed to his podcast with Drew Stoltz which is a lot of badda-binging and now is trying top-end golf commentary.  For my ear...i wish he would slow down his speech, tone down his accent (not against it but it just makes things hard for me to understand) and try to be more of an analyst...not a color commentator.  I think he can do this but his bosses need to send him to broadcasting school.  Help the guy out.  Please.  I think we are going to have to listen to him more than we expected.

Snyders makes a good point.  But a question...does anyone think Brandel is finally getting a bit better?  He seemed so during The Masters.  But, then, maybe I am getting use to him. 🤣

Love, dislike, or feel indifferent to Chamblee as an anchor, when he was actually in the booth during a live broadcast he was parsecs better than Knost. Even most of the unabashed Brandel haters admitted he's good during a round. Does a great job of making sure he puts his love of golf history to use while not talking us to death and constantly reminding everyone that he used to play and knows everyone in the field like Knost.

Knost is juvenile sounding and annoying.  One of those people who thinks they are funnier than they really are.  Now that Azinger is gone, he's next on the list for must go.

I am ok with him staying if he can improve.  Has room to do it. We will know quickly as he needs improvement pronto.  Listening to him is like nails on a chalkboard.

CBS is happy with him and they write the checks. That's all that really matters.

True, but since he has a Sirius show that is very popular, the Subpar podcast is #9 most listened to golf podcast, and is a on the course reporter for CBS somebody likes him. He isn't funny all the time but I find him very knowledgeable and entertaining.

We don't for sure but they sure have increased the number of tournaments he works since he joined them in 22.

His voice is very weasel-ish. 

 

at least Brandel’s voice is soothing. Just semi ignore the content.

He's not my favorite, but it's not like any golf folks really trigger me these days - now Beth Mowins doing college football?  Oh boy.
