I don’t really have any interest in the driver, but I’m a Costco ho, and I want that headcover.

Thinking about returning it without the headcover and just say I misplaced it at the course 🤷‍♂️

Of course not! Loonies don’t buy Costco drivers and Costco driver buyers don’t spend hours on the internet’s talking about all the tech and crap.

It’s a perfect storm. Everyone wants to hit it to prove their instincts were right.

Hotdog and soda still $1.50!

I went there wednesday not knowing so it wasnt there as I always pass through the sporting goods. But my online order has shipped out and is due for delivery tomorrow.

I'm baffled that people care so much about what others do. I don't like a lot of things, but I'm not going to go into every topic about it and tell people they shouldn't like it because I don't.

Same here. It's like the people who go to the Maltby or dtc threads get on their soapbox and declare that those products are garbage. What's the point? I

On a forum where members are obsessed with the best possible equipment I am baffled as to the remotest interest in anything from Costco. As already mentioned you can buy PXG woods for similar money, that perform extremely well, and have some trade in value.

Costco's return policy makes it much easier. They will not have to pay a 10 % restocking fee or shipping fees if they return it to a local store. 100% money back beats trade in value.

It’s not baffling, it’s a golf forum. I haven’t seen any posts telling other people what to do or caring what they do. Analysis is allowed and so are opinions. If someone wants to analyze whether a new $199 Kirkland driver is a good deal or not, what is the harm? Value is the primary focus of the Kirkland pitch.

And what’s wrong with posts pointing out other options that may be better deals or worth considering? There may be people who want to know that. I don’t know why Kirkland fans are so touchy. It’s all fair game. One of the posters said he’d never buy anything PXG. Good for him. No one has a problem with that. It’s a golf forum.

I really find the dynamic to be interesting. I think Ksig kind of cemented this disruptor status with the OG 4 piece. The gloves (not the best but amazing value) too.

I think there is a segment of us out there that cheer for the underdog. The one who’s trying to shake things up. maybe, just maybe, they’ll do it again and shake up the market with their releases. So, the hype train takes off from the station. Lots of YouTubers, social media personalities, and golf sites capitalize off of that initial hype. The hype that let’s be honest, is all because they made a huge splash one time. It’s mostly noise. No one is honestly expecting this to be better than the big dogs. But, if it’s close, it’s still a good story.

i think the hype is overblown. But, that’s fine. It’s an interesting equipment story in a time where a lot of us can’t golf. The new stuff isn’t dropping for another month or so from the bigs.

then, the really interesting part. I think that there’s another segment of golfers who like to go against the grain. And right now, with all the noise, it seems like the grain is going towards ksig golf lol. So, they dig their heels in and we have two groups. Both of them trying to be somewhat defiant. And kind of at odds.

The putter and wedges were kind of hyped initially but faded pretty quickly. I have a feeling these will too. But who knows.

At the end of the day, I think there’s more inherent “value” in the Kirkland golf products over the Callaway Edge sets that Callaway sells there. If I knew someone looking at buying a starter set, I’d 100% steer them to the Kirkland product over the edge or strata or the like.

Anyone have this in their hands yet?

Big gripe on my end is that the adapter is stuck in the hosel. Not sure they accounted for the paint on their adapters on their design cause i had to literally pry it off thinking i was gonna break the shaft in doing so. I went in with a dremel to soften the edges that lock the adapter in but poor miss of detail whoever designed and manufactured this.
IMG_2562.jpeg.d57f7c7b87f026dd5e051e8e22740f3d.jpeg
when i finally got it out it left a wear mark on the adapter where it was rubbing and pressed on

Is it like the Ping adaptor where all you have to do is give it a tap on the ground and the head come off with no issue?

I wish it was that easy i was tapping it like a triangle at first to like hammer mole at the end before i used the grip end to do a twist and pull to finally get it off

Right on, I know some of the Ping adaptors in the past were near impossible to pull off unless you gave them a good tap/smack on the ground.

Exactly! That was probably my favorite Let’s Play Thru video. He clearly demonstrated the parity of the TSR3 and Kirkland drivers for his swing. I thought it was great.

Wonder if they’ll do a restock on the driver/irons anytime soon.

It seemed to have taken them forever to get them up for sale from the time they appeared on the confirming list. We can hope that they get more soon but I’d doubt it. Same thing for their V2 wedges. It took 2-3 months from when they sold out to when they arrived online again.

I was able to compare my pxg 0311 gen 5

and the Kirkland on my flightscope

interestingly both drivers are $199

First impressions

looks pretty good.
Sound and feel are good

ballspeeds are good

it was forgiving enough but not that forgiving

Shaft was surprisingly pretty good. The stiff was surprisingly “stout” I thought this was going to be a wet noodle it was definitely not

however I was spinning it bit

overall great deal … interesting I would like to know what golfer Kirkland is targeting because I didn’t think it was that forgiving (it was good enough). The weight in my hands felt pretty good (I like clubs on the heavier “feel” side) and the stiff shaft felt pretty stiff (I play tipped X and TX)

<Removed>

to be fair the gen 5 is still new and I haven’t had a chance to play with it. It still launches too high for me but at $199 I think it’s a great deal for a club you can essentially fit yourself into with so much adjustments

but the Kirkland is hard to beat to be honest

I can imagine if Kirkland continues to make clubs people can upgrade forever 😂

TLDR version:

similar average to my gen 5 this includes all mishits

173 max ballspeed on Kirkland

177 max ballspeed on PXG gen 5

PXG noticeably more forgiving

not apples to apples because pxg 7.5* and has 7x in it

I thought it was odd he was consistently getting sub 1800 RPMs with the K Sig. The ball was diving quickly it appeared on the QCQuad.

Also he was very excited and sweaty unboxing that thing..

I was surprised the ball speeds were basically the same between the Kirkland and the Titleist.

My thought is that $199 is a decent price but during mid-late November you could have gotten a Rogue ST on CPO for $10 more in "like new" condition. I bought a TD and it came with the head and grip in shrink-wrap. Multiple shaft options and lofts to choose from too.
