There is no passing on this one. My driver is setup perfect and will be tough to beat for me. I’m in!!! Going to schedule a fitting at their Mesa store. Thanks for sharing man.

Well I've already done this with both the G5 and G6. Neither one of them out performed my G4/Autoflex combo. I should make an appointment as well, just don't feel like messing with it though.

Anyone tried this?  I don’t have a store close or I would definitely do it. I don’t see it beating my TSR3 anytime soon because it’s dialed in really well. But would love to try it

Honestly this is genius. The average Joe will come in with some off the rack sim or something and they’ll fit them in the right shaft that just happens to be in a pxg head and boom they’ll prove their point. Can’t forget us wrxers are the minority

From online reviews the gen6 is pretty low spin in the same loft comparatively while even offering a 7.5 degree option. I bet they will win on distance more often than dispersion. Dispersion will take a good fitter or a poorly fit / off the rack driver. Interested in hearing some stories.

Sounds like they are banking that most golfers are just in non properly fit drivers. I remember when I did an iron fitting with PXG last year the PXG rep didn’t want to attempt to fit me into a driver. He saw my tsr3 Ventus blue tr combo and said I can’t beat it and moved on haha.

Yep, genius in many ways...Their fitters are pretty good and once they prove their point, you just might be open to some new irons, wedges or putter etc... 😂

Hope he just hands me a crisp hundred when I walk in with my Stealth+ TR Blue and we get to hitting irons.

I would be curious to see! I think the Gen 6 would give the Stealth 2+ a run for it's money....

 

I have one and it's the real deal. I have a 9* and really need a 10.5* if anyone is interested in trading. Launches pretty low for me.

Frankly I dont think it should be too hard to beat a driver in distance or dispersion.  The or is key and they will win alot of the challenges.  Doesnt mean the driver would be better overall

I think its a good thing. Potential to more properly fit drivers.

I suspect they'd use the computer to decide whether you were sandbagging or not... 😄

But all that said, some golfers will like it and tell their friends. Other golfers won't like it and will tell their friends about the $100.

It's about confidence in marketing. Best way to gain customers is to gain exposure.

Your swing speed must be within 3 mph...but wouldn't stop someone from hitting low heel strikes vs high toe knuckle bombs.

The fitting is free too, and there's no obligation to purchase anything.

Fine print says swing speed must be within 3 mph and hands must be in same place. Determined by the fitter. That should eliminate the possibility of sandbagging it. Winning on a launch monitor between distance OR dispersion against any driver would be pretty easy imo. That is always the balance game in any driver fitting. The longest setup you can control consistently. 

PXG- “Well we can’t beat your current distance but hit this 44 inch 10.5 degree driver instead of your 45.75 inch 9 degree and let’s see if we can tighten your dispersion.”

I think the PluggedInGolf guy liked his enough, it kicked his gamer G425 Max out of his bag.  He doesn't strike me as very flighty with swapping clubs in and out.  It likely is a decent driver.  Shrug.

I tried this today in the Chicago West store, and had a great time with it.  The Gen6 did outdistance my G410 by 9 yards on average, but the dispersion went from 22' to 70' and that's no bueno for me.  Just a $499 driver and a $300 shaft upgrade to go deeper into the trees?  No thanks.

Ocean front property in North Dakota for anyone that thinks getting a $100 gift card is gonna be simple. Can easily see the fitter targeting one of the aspects that didn’t perform well and making it so PXG wins 99/100 times. Set the driver up like a ping for bad dispersion or deloft/SLDR setup the piss out of it for spinny, poor smash factor. 
 

gonna try anyway as i thanks my paradym triple d with ventus is gonna be tough for them to get around.

@TitleistBalata There was a very low pressure moment where they pushed the PXG on me, but I asked the fitter if he would spend $800 for 9 yards and less accuracy and he caved.  I was his 5th challenge fail of the day.  It's a carninval game, but cool to get in there and hit their club.  The PXG was definitely longer (46" vs 44.5").  If you are not savvy on drivers, I'd imagine their pitch would be a lot more successful.

In this promotional effort I’d expect something along those lines from the PXG fitter. Any good fitter is going to find the right balance between dispersion and distance. As @just372 stated, the fitter did what I’d expected. The PXG fitter beat his current gamer by 9 yards but dispersion was out the window.

Just curious, what shaft did they put in that gave you the most distance?
