Who really cares what driver he has. What brand was he using when he last won a tournament, oh that’s right Cobra and he bad mouth their driver. Has he won since Cobra parted ways with him….a big NO!

I was working the paddles on the 18th tee box on Sunday at this years US Open. It’s secluded from fans and when Bryson and his caddie came walking off the bridge up from 17 green, Bryson seemed pretty Kranky and tells his caddie “I woulda won this blankin’ tournament if it weren’t for this damn driver”. He was playing a Stealth 2. So yeah, he’s definitely searching big time. Kinda surprised by the Krank as he’s supposedly no longer distance obsessed. Def screams of desperation to me.

Cobra not good enough, TaylorMade not good enough, this Krank won't be good enough. Dude is going to run through all the driver brands before building one himself that won't work.

I mean, as much as Bryson complains isn't his point that drivers aren't made for ball speeds over 190? I remember him saying something similar to that in an interview at the open recently.

Ping mentioned with their G430 LST that they changed the bulge and roll of the face to better accommodate high swing speed players, but surely they don't mean optimized for 190-200 ball speed.

Maybe there's actually something to a Krank driver and the bulge and roll on the face that works better for ball-speeds he actually wants in the 190-200 range? just some food for thought

For anyone not watching LIV, Bryson is on 59 watch today with a few holes to go.  And he is not bombing and gouging.  Instead, he's been hitting a Krank 5-wood off the tee.  It is a 3-wood head, at 5-wood loft, with low spin.  He's been hitting nice smooth swings and it is rolling out 300yds pretty regularly.
