Driver with the best sound/feel?

Curious as to what you all consider the driver with the best sound/feel?  I did the PXG Gen 6 challenge and wasn't that impressed with the sound/feel of either head.  It's so rare for me to hit a good drive ;-), just want that additional acoustic/physical reinforcement for hitting a good one.

I have hit the latest Cobra, Callaway, Ping and Mizuno in the past month and I thought the Mizuno STZ 230 sounded great. And by that I mean, fairly muted and had some actual feel and feedback to it.

I haven't heard a good driver strike I didn't like. I haven't heard a bad driver strike that I did like.

Yes, it's better. But there are some things you just can't unhear.

From what I've tested in recent years:

 

- Callaway

- Titleist

- Cobra 

 

But honestly I don't mind a higher pitched Ping driver inside it can get to be a bit much but on the course I really don't care as long as it performs.

Srixon z745 is impossible to beat …. My vapor speed TW with hotmelt is the only contender

The Cobra L4V (circa 2008 ?) was the absolute loudest and worst-sounding driver I've ever hit/heard.

 

Some think the Ping G400 was as bad and the G425 only slightly better than the 400. While both those drivers weren't nearly quiet, they weren't as bad as the Cobra.

 

The current G430 is mile quieter; darn near "muted". 👍

That's pretty subjective. I'm currently enjoying the Callaway Rogue ST Max LS

When figuring out my garage sim I was a little concerned about loudness and disturbing neighbors especially for early morning warmups pre-round, and late night sessions.

 

I've still got an L4V stored away somewhere.  Now that I've finished my garage sim I'm going to throw a grip on it, hit some bombs and go door to door seeing how far it can be heard in the neighborhood.  That'll be my 'absolute worst case' noise limit. 

 

No joke, I will genuinely wear hearing protection while hitting it.  Those who haven't experienced it just don't know how insanely loud/bad/harsh that mofo is.

 

 

As for best, I did like my Stealth+ but now enjoy Paradym TD even more.  Clean, crisp and muted.  Special nod to the nike vapour flex - when hitting it centered it was like you whiffed, then you see the ball sailing away.

That brings back to mind the Callaway FT-Tour and Razr Hawk Tour. The Nike Vapor TW LE driver too.

I've used cobra aerojet, ltdx and speedzone which all sound the same to me and I love that sound.

Aerojet has a really nice sound and feel to me.

 

OG Sim Max was also a good one, but more muted to me.

 

Old Ping i25 (racing stripes lol) was lovely.

Radspeed is the by far the best sounding driver I've ever hit.   Sounds absolutely pissed at impact

If you put enough hotmelt in it, they all sound good!! I had a guy describe my driver's sound as "it sounded like you hit a golf ball...with a golf ball !!!" Had never heard it put like that before!!

Paradym TD is about as close to perfect as it gets for me--sound is a fantastic wooden crack & one out the middle just feels absolutely pure.

 

Never owned one, but I thought the TSi series sounded similar. Just couldn't find one that agreed with me.

I’m typically a big fan of ti drivers.  Love that crack sound with a hint of “ting”.  However, Cobra drivers always get my attention for sound and feel.  The Ltdx ls is right at the top for me as well.  It sounds so damn good and feels very “meaty” on center contact.
