He won't.  This course plays on your brain.  However, there are more -5-ish rounds to come.

Well the spin with a 5 iron to hold a green in not nearly as inpressive to me.  I can do that. I cannot hit a 5 iron 230 with that kind of spin.  Maybe 210

I don't know what it is but I don't want him to win.  It's in the same way I never want Adam Scott to win.  Can't explain it, they are both nice people.

Announcers got it right earlier. Never heard of a champion golfer who had to consciously remind themselves of what kind of club they had in their hands to get the swing right each time. His brain is scrambled if that's his thought process currently. 

 

On another note, bit crazy seeing some of these guys like McNealy & Montgomery who haven't had five seconds of air time this year showing up. I know they're in or near the lead, but spotlights how few players get any coverage and how much of the broadcast is eaten up by commercials normally.

Didn’t watch yesterday, just saw the tv guys say McIlroy consulted his fellow players before his drop…didn’t say they what they told him…of course.

 

“I feel like I’m one of the most conscientious golfers out here, so if I feel like I’ve done something wrong, it’ll play on my conscience for the rest of the tournament.”

 

Well, he feels he’s conscientious, that’s what’s matters, typical self-righteous attitude, “I’m a good guy, so by definition I can’t possibly do anything bad.”

 

It’ll bother him for a real long time if he does “something wrong”…like the entire weekend.

 

Isn’t McIlroy the same guy who did exactly what Reed did in that instance everybody uses to call Reed a cheat?

Why doesn’t Spieth get half the criticism that Rory does for his game since 2017? He’s regressed a lot and has only had maybe 2 legitimate chances to win a major since then.

What, are you serious? He's had a ton of criticism and hit the ball terribly (for him) for a few years. His game has since been better, but nothing like it was before. Rory meanwhile has played incredibly well year in year out, so the fact he hasn't won a major in 10 years now is shocking.

Did you watch the tv coverage, or the multiple analysis videos after the round?  What hovland and Speith told him was caught on camera for all to hear.   After some discussion his playing partners were ok with the drop location.
