I came to this thread expecting a meltdown over Rory on 18 and 7. The new Rory Reed.

 

As a mental exercise, just pretend that those drop were made by Patrick Reed. All of the same circumstance. Playing partners and partners caddies both disagree with the drop. He still does it.

 

im pretty sure the world would be over if that was Reed.

They didn’t disagree , they wanted to make sure he did it right.  Spieth offered other information that might’ve been relevant.  They were just trying to sort it out.

No Johnny Miller or Faldo in the booth.  Plus Rory's group teed off at 8:15 a.m.  Might have been a bigger deal with more people watching and a more outspoken analyst on the broadcast.

Thats kind of interesting. Don’t know who said that every like good but not top player has his magic 18 months.  Molinari would be one. And then there are players that just parks in the top 10 permanently. They might have some slumps but do return to the top pretty soon. So one wonder what kind of era Clark has, A Molinari or a Schauffele one. Would think the latter. A guy you expect to be at the top still 2028.

They all AGREED the spot chosen was the "safest" - it's on videotape for crying out loud - a conservative spot was agreed on, not another possibility further up, they were "good" - Rules Official was there and satisfied and made sure everyone was on the same page.  A good discussion which concluded with consensus.

That camera angle was all messed up.  The people across the pond said it didn't cross there. My neighbor who just happens to be there sent me a text and said that was the wrong place to drop. I read it on the internet that he cheated. Rory even admitted he cheated. His caddie tamped down the grass where he dropped...

This leaderboard is just silly.  Rory, Clark, Xander, Fitzpatrick, Scheffler, Aberg and Jason Day.   I'm sure it won't stay like this but you have to love it.
