Went for a fitting recently and was told I need more height and less offset. Was actually fitted to Mizuno SC with Modus 120. They are fine but I find myself really loyal to Srixons.

I wish i could play a 7/9 split. When I was fit for my current set 5-A Z565, I couldn't decided where to make the split and the fitter convinced me that it would be sometimes difficult to sell a split set (guess he didn't go on WRX BST) eventually got the set with the Modus 3 tour 105.

Part of me really wants to find a 8-P or 8-A in the 745/945 just so i could play with some smaller heads, but really the 5 looks pretty small from the top.

Best of luck with your search

I play a set that has all the 6 series. 4-565, 5-7 765, 8-P 965. Really happy with the set. MAYBE...just MAYBE I should have gone 565 on the 5 iron. But otherwise I would not change a thing. The 9's are great. If I had the desire to practice more, I could see playing a full set. But I don't and the 765 is a nice compromise on mid irons. Compared to other clubs in their category I find the 565's to not be too clunky. Great to sub in for longer irons. I have not had any gapping issues, and I did not change any lofts. I play them with the Modus 3 stiff.

I picked up a set of 945's 4-PW recently, so far really like them reshafted with Recoil 95 F5s. I tried a mixed set last year of the 765/565s, but I didn't get along with the Modus 120 X shafts I had them in, I think they are what set off my elbow problems. I like the feel of the heads, but I actually like the look at the address of the 45 series better, the 65s are almost too rounded for me. I like what I see in the pictures of the 85 series.

I had the 565s in 4,5,6, and 7-PW in the 765s. Never hit the 965s. I thought maybe the 945 would be hard to hit in mid and long irons, but so far I can't say that is the case. One of the easiest most forgiving blade like club I have hit. I will say the 565/765s are very forgiving, especially on slight toe hits, the 945s much less so, but they are basically a blade, but the weighting of the 65 series seems more on the toe, maybe that is the reason. Maybe the 965s weight distribution is different also.

LOVE my 745s. After trying a set of 745/545 combos in my PGASS, I was hooked and had to find a set. They are buttery soft but the 745s are tiny. I was coming from J40CBs which are not large irons and they looked huge next to the 745s. It's not a problem for me but it did take a swing or two to get used to. After playing them for a while now, I love the compact look with sharper edges and a pointed toe. Highly recommend them.

I play a 765 4-6, and 965 7-PW set. Funnily enough at my fitting I was between the Mizuno MP18 in a SC/Blade set. Numbers when properly fitted are damn near identical between the two sets, so close that I could have alternated between Mizuno-Srixon-Mizuno for each club all the way down and had no ill effects playing a bag like that. My biggest reason on going with the Srixon was they were 400 dollars cheaper at the time.

I sold my 545/745 combo on here recently and I regret it. They were beauties.

Any of you Srixon Enthusiasts lookin for a tour stand bag.....hit me up. I have OCD about playing one brand of clubs in another brand's bag.

I love my 945 as they feel like blades but are not harsh like blades. I was using Adam XTD forged which is somewhat a combo set, and having gone through this kind of transition a couple of time, I figured I needed a couple of range sessions at least to work in the longer irons. Took them to course right after I got them, because I just couldn't help it and because they just look so awesome, and I was able to hit them solid shots after shots, and had no difficulty at all hitting high straight shots with longer clubs. I was pleasantly surprised and totally amazed. Needless to say, the XTD's never made it back to the bag again.

I think the MB look of 9's might look more intimidating than it is. You should really try it for yourself.

Great responses so far. Interested if anyone can talk about the differences in ball flight between the 7s and 9s? Is one discernibly higher than the other? Spin more or less? Distance difference?

I dont have trackman numbers or anything like that, but I can tell you from playing both series extensively, as long as they match up loft wise and the same shaft is in them, there is no real difference other than looks. 65 series a little more forgiving toe side while the 45 series is more forgiving heel side, just a product of the weight distribution.

I have the 965s and absolutely love them, I know you are thinking more 7 series but the 965s are gorgeous very forgiving (not just for a blade) and you can really do a lot with them, just overall great clubs

+1. I really think anyone who can play the 745/765 can also play the 945/965. Check the back of the clubs carefully on the 9 series. Designers did a nice job of moving weight to the perimeter and still retain a blade look. My numbers were better with the 965 than the 765. They’re excellent.

I can't make a direct comparison, since I had the 565/765s in steel and have the 945 in graphite. But I will say I feel the flight of my 945's is more towards the lower side, especially given I have them with Recoil shafts. I have hit several other irons with Recoils, and with all of them I can really launch them up, and normal flight is on the high side, but the 945 is much more penetrating on normal strikes.

Just by looking at them, the 765s look like more mass is move towards the toe. I like that in an iron.

Have the 565s 4-pw and 965 5-pw. Both are great looking with exceptional feel. I don't think there is much difference in head size. 565s are 1/2 club longer but not a full club. Both series launch extremely high, but the ball seems to not balloon into the wind as much as you would expect. One gripe...wish the 965s were 8% smaller. When I look down at them they look like shovels for a blade'ish club.

My setup for both are 2up, STD length, SF i125x.

I've had a set of both the 765's and 965's. They are both great sets of clubs. The biggest difference that I noticed was the sole width, the 765's have a much wider sole (nothing that you would really notice at address, just when you look at them from the bottom). They both have a great look at address and I personally really like the v-sole, makes for nice turf interaction.

I am currently gaming the 965's in the 6i to the pw and have the 5i in the 765's. I swear the 65 series is meant to be made into a combo set, they just blend together perfectly! The 965's are also one of the easiest sets of blades/MB's to hit out there and they feel amazing!

Had full sets of 565, 765, and 965. Hated the 565 and just couln't hit them reliably. Played the 765's all last fall. Bought the 965's this spring and found them to be just as easy to hit and launched higher with more spin than the 765's. Same distances, better feel, equally forgiving. Tried playing a combo of the 765/965 but ultimately found that I hit the 965's better even in the 5 and 6 irons. Great clubs for sure.

Time to upgrade the Z 545s. May wait for the 785s, but could be tempted by a bargain on the 6 series. Would like to know why you chose 7 over 9 series, why you combined, how they compared etc.

Went for a fitting recently and was told I need more height and less offset. Was actually fitted to Mizuno SC with Modus 120. They are fine but I find myself really loyal to Srixons.

I prefer the squarer look of the 45 series but I could get over the roundness of the 65s if they had other benefits

So tell me what you got and why

I had a set of 765's and the rounder shape, wider sole, and the offset eventually lead me to switch to MP-18's. I'd say wait.

I gamed the 745s for a while and then signed up for an alert on Global Golf and got a set of 945s for a great price when they had a promo on used clubs. Tried multiple different combos and just ended up realizing that there isn't much difference for me between the 745 and 945 in terms of forgiveness so I just listed the 745s on BST and going with 5-PW in 945 and a U45 4 iron. Pretty happy with it so far. I did get the lofts adjusted on the 945s to match the 745 and distances are pretty spot on for me.
