New PXG Irons

We had demo day at our club last Friday. The PXG rep had fitting heads on hand for a new model not otherwise in the gen2 line. Had a black insert in the back (though he said it would ultimately be satin), said it was designed to launch a little lower than the existing gen2 line. Lower price point too--I want to say he said it was under $200 per stick. Stupidly, I did not take any pictures. (Yes, I know, bad wrx'er...). In any event, anyone hear anything about these heads?

I've heard some rumblings that PXG was going to be coming out with an iron in 2019 that is more in the price point of the other OEM's. I don't know any details about performance or design, just some things I have heard. Jealous that you got a sneak peak and will be interested to see what develops here.

I heard from my rep that it was going to be a game improvement iron and priced competitively.

That's the one. Didn't look super shovely in the address position. Definitely closer to the 0311P than the 0311T in appearance. Glad someone is a better wrx'er than me and actually took/got pictures...

Interesting development at PXG.... Looks good, but I will stick with my Gen2s.

This is a 7 iron I hit. It felt pretty good. Looked good I thought.

How does the top line look?

I do not know the marketing strategy behind the 0211, but I did confirm that the 0311 will remain the PXG flagship product.

I'm now definitely interested in replacing my 6-gw Hogans with these to go with my Gen 1 0311X 4 and 5

Cast and stainless, which is how the Titleist T-MB are designed. Difference being the tmb is hollow while pxg is filled with cor2.

I had the tmb irons and the mid & short irons felt terrible. These should feel better with vibration reducing cor2.

Just out of curiosity for all current PXG iron players.. Do you think this will dilute the Gen 2 P/T etc, irons. Does it push or pull you one way or the other? Not necessarily in buying them but just not having that same feeling with a lower end price point iron out there. I also assume it's no different if you have the fully loaded Mustang vs base model..

I think this helps PXG look more mainstream and accepted by the masses instead of just the rich a**hole brand. Probably smart move much like reducing their driver pricing.

Damm thats a good looking iron. I love looks of the originals / gen 2's but would love to see that in person. May have to check it out if I get a chance.

It is better looking and cheaper than their Gen1 and Gen2 irons.

Of course the fact that the new 0211 is cast is then assumed that it is an inferior club to a forged!

Do you see "CAST" stamped on the club....no.....that would be perceived as inferior.

PXG could have stamped "FORGED" on the hosel since the face is forged AND it would be like the Taylormade P790 and Ping Blueprint that are cast with a forged face! But PXG did it right.

CAST VS FORGED VS MILLED.........for another thread. Its all about what is perceived and then assumptions take over.

Ping and Vokey are cast (for the most part)... do they write CAST on the their clubs....NO!

0211 Wished that PXG would have left the center off and made it a nice smooth back like the 0311 with a simple stamping....much better looking. Do we really need PXG on the hosel too? The brushed stainless does look nice though.

If a MFGR. made a modern day Channel Back this is it. I like it.

$145 a stick if you qualify for the heroes program. If I didn’t just pick up a set of i500 I’d highly consider these. I think they look great!

I like them. Nothing wrong with options. If they're not for you it doesn't mean they suck.
