New COBRA 2020 Irons - I heard a Rumor

I was in Detroit on Thursday ( at CARLS'S GOLFLAND) and according to one staff memeber the COBRA rep had just been in to showcase the new COBRA irons for 2020....... I was told that COBRA will be releasing an iron just like the foam filled Taylor Made P790's and PXG's.

Can anyone confirm or deny??? I love Cobra and currently play the Tour Forged but damn.... that would be an amazing addition to the COBRA LINE...

I believe the tech forged and tech forged one length will have this. There was a picture here not sure if it was taken down or not.

every company going with the faux blade these days. Can't say I blame them, it is a nice clean look, and visible tech I think is getting to be a thing of the past and people want something the looks clean.

Very interesting. Especially if they come out at a price well under something like the TMs - it could be a big hit for Cobra.

I’m assuming he’s trying to get the point across that he’s seen them in person.... saw the same statement in the other thread...

I’m just hoping they don’t have as much offset as the FTB’s, i loved the FTB‘s but man that offset was ridiculous.

They look good in person but agree with the post above. More offset than I expected.

This is by no means trying to insult people, but what is the problem with a little offset in a club? It appears on here all the time.

It is inferred that “better” players like less offset and the more offset there is in a club it’s perceived to be game improvement.

Wonder if they've gotten feedback that KING in giant letters is good... I know it's their branding but I liked it a lot better when it was a more subtle Cobra logo on the original forged tec

Sadly there are other irons that have a stronger lofted 7 iron. Can't wait until we soon have 24* 7 iron. /s

look good to me, but the guy is 30 years younger than me so knock a lot of distance off for me !!

Not sure who copied who. Not looking to debate this but these internally look identical to the new P790's.

Any word or rumors on if cobra is thinking about releasing a similar shaped iron with less offset, smaller footprint, traditional lofts, and no foam? I think the overall shaping is great and if they combine to a smaller, traditional cavity, two-piece forging with a bit of tungsten, you have like Adams CMB meeting JPX 919 tour. That could be a huge winner.

They look pretty cool to me! If they made them in black I'm sure a lot more people would be into these.

Offset doesn't bother me probably because I have irons with some offset in them already.

If they feel anything like the current Forged Tec irons or even better than them I will be very interested as I love the way the Forged Tec irons feel/sound

Look good to me, lofts are too strong imo.

No issue, but if you want better tolerances, get the work done at a local shop. That is true for any manufacturer except Ping or Mizuno or super high end.

I'm surprised they kept offset and topline (IMO at least) so similar to the last version. Maybe this means they're updating the Forged Tours too? I'm a huge fan of their CBs, but it seems like there is still a gap in the p760/T100 comp set if they dont...

For those of you asking griping about the offset, these have less offset than the HMB. I just did the comparison using a conversion calculator. They have 0.5mm more offset than the i210/i500, 0.3mm less offset than the 785, and the same offset as the Callaway 2018 X-Forged.

You guys will literally complain about anything! The offset is similar to a wide variety of well respected player's irons. Most of these I have never even heard of the offset being brought up.
