How many iron sets do you own?

My current count is at 12. The purchasing has gotten out of hand lately. As much as I would like to hold on to my “classic” clubs that are near and dear to me, I just don’t have the space to keep them all. I just have to accept that they will forever be a fond memory. I’m happy in the 4-5 range. One of each type is ideal for me. Usually a blades iron, 1-2 sets of forged players cavity irons and one bigger GI iron for the winter time or as a guest set.

I saw a set a few years ago in a pro shop and boy I wanted them.... But the wife was with me, so no chance. Went back a few days later but they'd gone! I do hit the 6 iron on the practice ground from time to time, just to relive my junior days

Callaway Big Bertha 2002 (loved the first set I had, never should have traded them so 10+ years later found another set and will keep this set)

Callaway Epic Irons (I was skeptical at first but got them because of the low price at Callaway Pre-Owned I gave them a shot, hands down my favorite iron set)

Caveat: I do still have my original set of MacGregor Golden Bears that got on my 13th birthday (41 years ago), but ill never use them. I’m currently trying to force myself to just toss them.

 

Quoting my own post seven months later. We’re gettimg ready to relocate after 26 years in the same house. You accumulate a lot of stuff in 26 years, so unfortunately the old Golden Bears didn’t survive.

 

But I’m back up to three sets anyway.

 

Bought a Rogue 4 wood with tournament winnings this year and never really found the groove with it. So traded it to a buddy. I got back my old set of Eye 2 Copper Berylliums that I sold him several years ago. I always swear I’m keepimg them.

 

Then just bought a set of TM Tour Preferred MBs from the BST. Mainly wanted the Steelfibers shafts in them, but they’ll get a tryout anyway.

 

I am though down to only two putters!
