Rory Mcilroy has become a bad pressure player (There, we've said it)

"Tell me if this sounds familiar: Heading into the final round of the Sentry Tournament of Champions on Sunday, Rory McIlroy stood in second place, just three shots off the lead. He proceeded to shoot 72, which was the worst score of any player in the top 20 (of a 33-man field). Instead of winning, he slipped down the leader board, finishing in a disappointing tie for fourth.
Blur the specifics a little, and you could be talking about any number of recent events. The one that stands out, of course, is the 2018 Masters, when he shot a painful Sunday 74 in the final group to cede the tournament to Patrick Reed. But the list goes on: the Tour Championship, in which he stumbled in Tiger Woods’ shadow, again in the final group, to post a dismal 74; the BMW PGA Championship, where he shot an unimpressive 70 in the final group to finish second despite starting the day as co-leader; the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational, playing (repeat after me) in the final group, and once more blundering his way around the course to fall to sixth and hand Justin Thomas a relatively stress-free victory.
Those are the most egregious examples, but they aren’t the only ones—there are plenty of other tournaments, from the Open Championship to the Dubai Desert Classic to the Dell Technologies Championship, where a good-to-great performance would have put him near victory, and where he could only muster the pedestrian. One of his best Sundays of the year came at the BMW Championship in September … unfortunately, that was because rain canceled play for the day. When the final round resumed on Monday, he stumbled in the last group, failing to erase a slim one-shot deficit as victory eluded him again. By my count, Rory has played in seven final pairings (or threesomes) in the past year, and he hasn’t captured even one of those titles."
.....................................................
"Or, since we live in the age of the conspiracy theory, is he cursed by his ex-fiancée, Caroline Wozniacki, who—long considered a choker herself—won the Australian Open in January 2018 to break a career-long grand slam drought at roughly the exact moment that Rory’s really ugly stretch began?"

Nonetheless, while I knew Rory wasn't playing great, I did not know..

Its a concern and that stat isn't great but its only one year in a career plus he was won in that time period. There was still pressure coming down the stretch @ API.

Yup his win at bayhill he was in the the 4th before last group i believe. it seems his course management leaves him at odd times. For a ball striker of his caliber youd think hes missing putts only in those final rounds but his whole game falls apart. he was 54th in final round scoring last year.If you take out his 64 at bay hill he falls to 122nd. That tells you alot about his mental game at this point in his career. As a reference point phil was 4th place in final round scoring this past season almost 2 shots better than rory as a 47 year old. The way rory drives it that should never ever happen

Every time I watch him (which, admittedly, isn't that often), I see him hitting wedges to 12 to 18 feet when guys who are dialed in are knocking them to 4 to 8 feet. I know what the tour averages are from 100 to 120 yards, but it still seems like he underachieves with his wedges, especially. Am I crazy?

Wow 7 and 0. He's getting into Greg Norman territory.
Of course the glass half full view is that he has held a share of the 54 hole lead seven times, which is in itself pretty amazing. But I'm not buying and will go with the Rory's a choker/Wozniaki curse 😉

In more important matters, I don't care what anyone says...wide legs and pleats were better than skinny flat fronts.

True. But according to Auguster in another thread .... he’s now married. So glass tables shouldn’t have been in his recent future. So his legs should be plenty strong and ready to go. Lol.
If anything he should have some pent up energy

Bold statement, never is a long time and things can change relatively quickly. Who'd have thought Tiger would go winless (majors) in 10 years.
For me if you look at it logically, the number of high finishes in majors Rory has had since his last win would suggest he'll win again in a major(s).

Suits with pleats and long creases were the thing in the 90s, was just what you wore. In retrospect, it got a bit out of hand with the baggyness and also, they pleats/creases would get unpressed and you ended up with that "baloon" look.
Flat front is much better.
TW did manage to pull of the baggy look. Well, when he was playin like this....

Well I'm 55 so I was there and a part of it unfortunately. But you are right it did get out of hand. David Duval when he shot 59 in the desert or Tiger when he made his ace on 16 at Scottsdale are two good examples.
