Back to blades, Z Forged Irons and new RTX Wedges

Nippon NS Modus 3 Tour 125 Stiff in irons 4 - PW and stock DG S400 Tour Issue in wedges. Lead tape to bring the irons to D3.

When the grips (GP Tour Velvets) start to wear, Lamkin UTX ready to install. Played 2 rounds with them so far and love shot making ability that these irons allow.

After hitting the SIM Max, Mavrik SZ, TS3 and Ping G 410 a couple weekends ago I went back and traded in a set of Titleist irons with the 50% bonus @ Golf Galaxy. Hit the regular Mavrik which I didn’t get along with at all and the SIM. Couldn’t pass up walking out with the SIM for $120 out of pocket.

After hitting it today at the simulator, I added some weight with lead tape and was getting 159-161 ball speed consistently while swinging it 105 mph which is a few mph faster than normal. Spin averaged 2150 and launch was 12.5. Cant wait to get this outside and test it against the Flash SZ. I’m anticipating the SIM will stay In the bag.

Diamana Limited is what I went with. Knew I couldn’t do the HZRDS Smoke, too low spin. I hit the Ventus Red but dispersion was all over the place.

 

I’m hoping it launches higher than my Flash SZ, have the Tensei Blue made for in that and I really like that shaft. Hopefully in the next couple weeks l will better be able to answer you as it warms up, although 12.5 launch is higher than the 10-12 I had been seeing.

Congratulations your about to hit alot of fairways. I have fusion. Amazing driver and despite what some say can still go long distances. I also have rogue driver. Im still accurate with it but just added distance. Id say i average just about 10 yrds extra but longer drives come more frequently. Definetly cant get rid of my fusion though so nice and unique.

Yeah sorry for this late response. TM had a marketing campaign for that set (I think it was that set anyway) where they pronounced "the set is dead", implying that every single iron was individually engineered for its position in the bag. But somehow amazingly they all came out looking the same. Great "set" all the same.

Finally got to properly testrun the BGT stability shaft on an indoor green and I am impressed! Feels good and flat out performs. Would recommend ?/?
