I recently purchased some 716 CB irons. Replaced the 716 AP1 (had 714 and 716 for past 4-5 years).... i have played in a 2 man scramble (we won) and a handful of rounds with them and i absolutely love them!!! Wish i had bought CBs sooner!

The start of the new build came in the mail today... Mizuno MP 18 MMC FLI-HI 3 iron with Project X LZ... 1 deg flat, stock length and loft

 

 

How does it compare to the previous MP H5?

When I hit a demo of this club it was with a Nippon Modus 120. I have previously owned a H5 3 iron with the stock C-Taper lite shaft. The MP-18 feels softer in comparison although I was never a fan of the C-Taper lite shaft and that may have something to do with the overall lack of feel in the H5. The ballflight is comparable with both however the MP-18 carries around a half club further (stronger loft). Appearance wise they look similar at address however the MP-18"s backside looks more well shaped than that of the H5. I have also recently owned a T-MB and the MP-18 feels significantly better and is easier to hit compared to the T-MB. To me the FLI-HI is the best overall looking and performing driving iron out there without being too bulky. I don't really think the Tungsten on the toe does anything for me to change flight however I am sure there is a forgiveness factor in there.

Just got this as it was dirt cheap on 3balls. Hopefully it’s just as good as the 983K because I loved that driver as a righty. I know this driver has some hype behind it so we’ll see how it stacks up once I get some range time with it and then take it to the course.

Awesome deal! How do these fit and are they stable? I've tried them on , but they feel like you'd move around a lot?

 

So far I'm really happy with mine. You can wear them to the course (if you want) and they're stable enough. I walk quite a bit and my course has got lots of steep sidehill areas that can't be avoided. I was fine on all of them the other day. If you're playing a flat course, they're fantastic and as comfortable a shoe as I've ever had. I don't have a lot of experience with modern golf shoes (always been a FootJoy Classics guy) but these are the first ones that I've really gotten along with. Even my FootJoy DNA have nearly crippled me after walking 18 holes....blisters everywhere still after 18 months of play. Probably just not good for my foot.

i think so. comes in various weights. I know they did a black version, can't remember if those were wedge only too

Not sure if the shaft option is still available, but I've seen a set of MP33s on sale with the Blue Modus shaft (Modus 120X).

They must be re-shafts, but I don't know when they were done.

This is my new Driver cover that’s replacing my favorite Shinnecock knit cover that sprung a bunch of holes (cuz that’s what Rocket Tours do….spring holes spontaneously. Then they pretend they don’t know that’s an issue with their products). It’s too bad…I really liked it. I know this one will last a while and I like the (sort-of) Steelers colors. Price was right too. $25 with my discount. I think this will be my Christmas gifts for friends this year….always a hit.
