The Water Caddy is an attempt to beat the heat. It works well because I sip water more often and I can load up the bag with ice.

 

The minimalist set is the Srixon z785 driver with the Fujikura Atmos Tour 6 Black, u85 20* with Recoil 95, z785 irons [5i, 7i, 9i] with PX 6.0, and Cleveland RTX4 [46*, 52*, 58*] with TI DG.

 

How are you liking that 785? Saw it in person the other day and damn, it is a REALLY nice looking driver....

 

I played my first round with it yesterday and the sound/feel was the first to stand out. It sounds so good. I did not hit it well direction wise on the range, but I was hitting the middle of the face. The shots were straight but offline. User error: I should not have set the driver to -1 which is 2* open [10.5* head]. The Atmos shaft allowed me to know where the clubhead was during the swing. On the course I was able to hit long controlled shots as I adjusted for the setting. I will get on Flightscope today to confirm the best setting and compare to my Ping G400. The sound and the ball flight were indelible. The alignment mark on the topline grew on me as the round progressed.

That has to take first place in my lifetime list of "dorkiest things I've ever seen a golfer carrying". Looks like something from Dune.

 

If lifting a bottle of water to your mouth to drink is too much effort, how in the world are you actually carrying a bag of clubs on your shoulders? I mean seriously, c'mon.

 

P.S. And I played golf a couple times with a guy who carried a nylon brush in his bag that he'd use to clean the dirt off the bronze brush hanging from his bag, that he used after every shot to clean the clubs. I'm serious.

I just wanted to thank the boys at Continental Golf and SeeMore for this collaboration! I called SeeMore up a few years ago and said I needed a heavy head to allow me to go to 30" playing length and they offered me just the solution. A M1B (BELLY) heavy head with a custom lie angle and we were off. This was the goto putter and it just needed a refresh. So I called my boy Justin at CG, who always delivers and has done 5-6 clubs for me to date but this one is the best! SeeMore M1B 385gram head w/10gram weight, Satin black, Gloss black paint fill, with custom Blue RST dot from CG. They also did the shaft in steeples satin black to match the SS Slim3.0 CC. Thanks again guys and good to get my ole faithful back in the bag with he matching magnetic head cover!

The dorkiest thing I ever saw a golfer wearing was this week. It was a belt/ fanny pack carry case for a range finder. Thought he must be in the woods a lot if he needs the range finder strapped to him at all times.

Your perspective is duly noted. I have used hydration packs for biking, skiing, and hiking and the thought that it was 'dorky' existed when they were introduced in the late 80's for biking. To me it is functional for golf because it fits in the clothing pocket and frees up the space in the water bottle pocket for my GPS unit.

Not a purchase but I did build this today. It’s just a prototype right now and there will be a second and final version once I work the kinks out of this one. I’m planning to add a Dado groove down the center and build a little jig to slide in it to allow face angle measurements as well. It turned out better than I expected so far but I already see things I want to change or improve for the next version.

I built this today out of 1/4” MDF. The stick is 4’6” long, 1 and 1/8” wide and the cup is 3”. Is it ever hard to get the ball to actually stay in the hole, after using this all winter a full size hole should look Huge in the spring. :)
