Anyone Still Gaming an Older/Ancient Driver

975D w/X-100 shaft is my gamer. Tried SLDR, M1, 915 D3, Bio Cell+, etc. and just can't justify 5-8 yds. with occasional 310-320 yard drive for being 280 in the fairway every time the headcover comes off.

Winter Driver - Nike Ignite 460cc driver 10.5
Summer driver - Callaway FT-9 9 degree

I don't want crack the head on the Callaway.
I already cracked FT-5, playing in the winter.

I still game the Callaway X460. I've tried new drivers but I don't think the minimal distance gains in an upgrade are worth a loss in confidence.

This fall, I went back to my old R5. T-serial; I was told it used to be Mark Brooks'. Who knows; Mark probably can't recall when he actually had a contract with TM, much less which drivers he used. It's just a very solid head with nice weight and balance and a terrific-looking face angle. No great emotional attachment, and it was not expensive. Looking forward to my next five drivers this year.

909 D3 X-stiff speeder shaft... seems to spin it less than anything else I have tried.

These are the only drivers I would actually put in my bag for a round of golf. Listed in order of greatest likelihood of use. I don't own any newer drivers either.

Adams Fast 12 LS - new to me this year. Really happy with this driver and the stock stiff Fubuki shaft.

Wishon 919thi, it is as good as anything I have tried. Accra shaft in it makes it a great combo. Fairway finder. I have found longer drivers (jpx 850) but none more consistent.

I cant say I still use it, but my buddy bags a 909 driver and 3 wood he got off eBay and is just dropping bombs on the golf course. On it two on holes that are ~550

I play the TM Tour Burner and love it, haven't found another drive that felt different enough to warrant a change. Just slap a grip on and ready to rock baby.

Ive owned a couple before and would love to add another to what is now a bit of a 'driver collection'.

I have looked a little recently - but have not found a truly 'nice' one as yet. Ideally i'd come across a mint R580 TP. Now that would get the heart fluttering............

I play a Ping G10 driver. I know where its going and that makes up for the 10 yards I might gain with newer stuff. I will probably be booted off of GolfWRX but I have never used a trackman.

Looking to upgrade but a bit tough when I'm hitting my 8.5* Cleveland Launcher Comp decently still. Still goes well and plays nicely with the Aldila NV X-Stiff!

 

Shopping around and this is from the launch monitor the other day with it. If anything my swing needs to change some (haven't swung since August, and haven't been playing much at all before then!) but not too bad. Guy said their monitor is 10-12 yds conservative too!

I have a Cobra Fly Z now, and spent the earlier part of the year with a Ping G30 LS Tec, however, my Adams 9015D is never too far out of reach. I also have a Callaway Razr Hawk Tour head that I may resurrect soon, as well as the TM Superfast TP 1.0. There is something about the 2008-2010 years drivers that I like.
