The original Adams Tight Lies. I believe it was a 16 degree fairway wood with a 1/2" face depth. The infomercial put Adams on the map. They sold thousands of them. First range session with mine, it was beat to s*** with sky marks. Never put the POS in the bag after that.

Not sure how an Adams golf product can be called a one hit wonder... They went on to sell many more hybrids, drivers, fairways and irons after that.

Umm, Adams put out a couple of good clubs after that one. Not sure I'd call them a one hit wonder?

There are plenty of companies in this thread that went on to produce many winners. Obviously people are confusing "one hit wonder" with one production model that was a piece of sh!t.

I can't believe we have made it this far into the thread without anyone mentioning one of the true all time one hit wonders, the Bassakwards putter. That thing was on fire back when they released it. There had never been anything like it before and it was all over the place. Then it disappeared like a hollywood starlet with herpes, and so did the company. Poof. Gone.

The original Tight Lies was an amazing club. So easy to hit. If there was a golf club hall of fame the Tight Lies would be a worthy entry.

What about Founders Club? They made a pretty sweet driver, signed Lee Jansen and then... *poof* gone.

Imagine Middleclubs. 2 through 6 lofts with shortened shafts and heavier heads. The heads looked like small fairway woods, but they played like hybrids. The theory and design were actually way ahead of it's time. I had all but the 2 iron and played them with great success for years. Get the ball up in the air and were great out of the rough. Pretty visionary considering that a most of the theory is not standard in most custom set designs.

Don't care if anyone agrees, or not... This club was a performer!

EDIT: Dang, setter... Snuck in there while I was finding the pic!

That is another one of those clubs that still has a cult like following around here with some of the older retirees

Knight wedges. Sold at Walmart. Most illegal damn wedge you could buy. Would tear the polyurethane off the ball, but would either stop on a dime or roll back off the green depending how much wrist you got into it.

Who made those wedges that had diamond chips (so they said) on the face? Illegal as those Knight wedges. Those things had the smoothness of a rasp ant talk about chewing up a cover

Solus wedges they were actually pretty decent. Sand wedge was like cheating out of a bunker

The guy who designed and owned Solus Wedges Bob Renegar started another company called Renegar Wedges he is making forged wedges and yes they have the same soles as the old Solus. Pretty good wedges I did some of the prototype testing for another golf site

Oh, PureSpin wedges. My parents saw a TV ad for those wedges when I was younger and thought they would make a great birthday gift....

Worst golf club I have used in my life. I've never burned through so many golf balls in my life!
