Have you looked at the reviews on Costco for the 3 piece? Some of them sound fake.

For the past few weeks I have been playing the K3 and it has performed well. I have been taking lessons to help sort out a few issues so I wasn't sure if it was the ball or me. Today I played the front nine with the TF D2 feel and played the back nine with the K3. To be honest, I wasn't really seeing any difference. Both drove well off the tee. Approach shots seems equal with some hop and stop with both and some hop and release with both. Chip shots? Well, that is something I am working on so I can't really give opinion. I hit it fat and it wasn't chunky at all, lol. My swing today seemed to be getting the same distance with any club with either ball. When it comes to putting, I prefer the feel of the K3 off the insert in my Seemore putter and may have had better distance control. Both good cheap balls for us mere mortals.

Played 18 with the K3. Everything is great, except performance around the greens. I could not get this ball to check up for me. The greens on this particular course were really fluffy and slow, and the ball still wouldn't check.

 

There was one shot in particular. I was about 20yds off the green. About 15ft in front of the hole, there's a slight up-slope which then plateaus off to the hole. I hit a flop shot over the bunker in front of me and landed it on the up-slope. The ball rolled 15ft past the hole. Even my playing partner was amazed that the ball didn't check up. He also used the ball the full round and shared the same sentiment that the ball just likes to roll.

 

Decent ball, but don't expect it to give you much around the green. Play for a bit of run.

 

Not saying I don't believe you, but I don't think the hardest, least spinny ball in the world would run for 30 feet after landing on an upslope... on a fluffy slow green... from a 20 yard flop shot.

 

It’s fine if you don’t believe me, I know what I saw. But trust me, both my friend and I were at awe when we saw it. Over the entire 18 holes, it was both our consensus that the K3 runs too much for being a 3pc urethane ball. For reference, my normal ball is the ChromeSoft and I also played the Project S that day which reacted much better on the greens.

 

Everything about the K3 performed well except for anything 100yds in.

I keep playing the 3pc waiting for weird things to happen, and its playing as long and at times longer than the K-Sig. I'm having no problem getting it to check and stop on some pretty hard greens as well. Don't let bad reviews and the haters fool you, this is turning out to be a pretty good ball.

I will say that the K-Trey doesn’t check at all for me on green side chips ranging from fringe to 20 yards. Outside of that is is on par with most premium balata....err....urethane balls.

Sim stats I got tonight. 100 and 45ish yards with ProV1, Prior gen chromesoft, and K3.

 

I think the K3 does just fine 100yds and in.

Thanks for posting the data. It's nice to see cold, hard data, and not someone saying the K Sig has topsin so unique, so amazing that it will hit an upslope and take off uphill and roll 80 more feet, lol.
