Played my first non-windy round with the K3.

 

Really good ball; have no problem purchasing more and using them.

 

You can spin it back from the fairway and put some greenside spin when chipping/pitching. As long as it's not windy or a tournament, I'll be using them.

 

I'll probably opt for the OG KSig in tournaments, or more likely the Srixon XV (mostly due to the fact, I've been using them for years)

A certain GolfWRX'er (whose wife is named Mrs. Pelz) generously provided me two sleeves each of the original K-Sig and new K-3 KIRKLAND balls to compare to the Titleist AVX I've been using for the past few months. I've completed my testing (results are posted upthread), managing to lose a few balls in the process.

 

In the spirit of paying it forward I'd like to offer the remaining three K-Sig and four K-3 balls along with a couple of my own AVX to anyone who'll volunteer to do some comparisons and post the results here. Just send me a PM and let me know if you're interested. First come, first served but you've got to PROMISE to post your experience once you've had a chance to give the balls a thorough tryout.

I have been playing the Ksig 3 and for me it is great. I am new to the game and tend to lose a few balls all along. The price point makes it a no-brainer for me.

I've been playing the K3 for a while now and have liked the ball. Distances seemed fine. My inconsistent swing isn't going to hit any ball the same on any shot so distance is what it is. Like it for putting a lot. Feels real nice of the insert in my putter. Pitch shots around the green with a 58 degree has been fine.

 

The other day I put one in the water and since it was getting a little dark I grabbed a yellow D2 Feel to finish the round. Much to my surprise, I believe I was getting better spin with that 58 degree. My first 20 yard pitch, the ball just hopped and stopped. I figured I just caught the ball right and got more spin. Seems every shot was like that. I'm a bit dismayed because I have been enjoying the K3 but now I don't know. Well, you know what they say about opinions. They are like (fill in the blank with how you heard the phrase), everyone has one.

Hey guys im pretty new to golfwrx but I just went to the Costco in monterey park, ca and they had both the four piece and three piece in stock!

 

Lucky...been to 3 diff ones in the last week and came up empty

My Costco doesn't have any golf related items at this point. Last year they had the Callaway gloves and balls. Must not be big sellers around here.

Was in my local Costco today and they had the Callaway superhot 55 and the three packs of Callaway gloves

 

No Ksig balls.

So Monterrey Park and City of Industry have had confirmed in-store stock the last week.

 

I get the feeling they are slowing going have enough supply to have them in stores frequently.

 

Hoarding is down (2 double dozen limit helps)

 

Resell market is squashed = aftermarket demand is now low

 

With the K3 taking some demand off the KSIG , the easier it will be to keep the KSIG fluid and available.

 

Last but not least, the overrun story was all BS. It did help create the demand as speculation was once they were gone they were gone forever.

 

All I need now is for the K3 to come in yellow and I "might" be able to settle on just one ball. Don't think Costco cares about offering more options but you can dream right?

My storage Closet- 17 Dozen 4 piece, 3 Dozen 3 piece.

Palm Desert CA COSTCO had a whole pallet of the 3 piece today at around 3:00 pm,,,,

 

Had a sleeve of chrome soft and compared it to the three piece and to me they were almost identical in feel, spin and distance,,,,

 

But who am I to compare golf balls, I play stock regular shaft , not tipped , 95 mph swing speed and play in public courses,,, but I’ did stay as a Holiday Inn,,,,

Played with another round with the K3s.

 

For the price, incredibly impressed still.

 

Nothing lacking distance-wise, and spin was good and able to be controlled.

 

Runner for a chip? Check.

 

Spinner for a chip? Check.

 

High spinner? Check.

 

Spin back an approach from the fairway? Check.

 

Compared to other balls at the price, where I don't have an easy of a time doing that, one heck of a job. I'll just not play these when it's too windy and gusting. :)

I found a lone box of the 3 piece at my local Costco. I ended up buying it to see what the fuss is about. They look cheaply made. I haven't played a round with them yet but some putts and chips on the carpet left me less than impressed with the feel. Its like a dull dead thud. We'll see how it performs on the course.

This is very true...I just checked Ebay and whereas a dozen KSig4 were going for $40+ a year ago I just watched as a listing barely squeezed out $26 after 5 days listing time. There were many many more with prices over $26 that did not sell and are not moving. The fact CostCo has rolled them out more frequently this year and are offering the K3 have absolutely hurt Ksig flipping prices but it was bound to come down to earth eventually... right?

Earlier this spring, I ordered the max amount of K3's (2 orders of 4 doz) and am enjoying them. I had also tried to order extra K3's was the order was cancelled. So yesterday I tried again and the order went through. Perhaps the order limit drops after a certain time? Don't know but happy to see that mine are out for delivery and I should have them later today :)

That was added by the Mods after the thread was running. They made it quite clear at the time there would be no selling/flipping in this thread.

In time, these balls will be a Harvard B School case study also with a new psychology affliction...KSigaidekaphobia. The fear of not having KSigs in the golf ball closet.
