Played a Kirkland ball I found yesterday for most of a round before it found a pond. It was a "Performance +" Is this the K3? I really liked the feel and it did what I wanted when I hit it well. Not a Costco member but I might have to track down some more.

yes that's the K3.

Thanks! Well im off to add more balls to my collection... Played just like CS and V1s and sucks way less to lose them!

the 3 piece are available online. you just need someone with a membership to purchase them for you. to me that ball was OK compared to the K4 which was far superior overall.

K3 is probably better than any other options you're likely to have for about a dollar a ball (absent once-in-a-decade TM Lethal blowouts and such). The exception would be if you struggle with too much spin even with balls like K-Sig or ProV1. In that case it's probably not a good deal even if it were free. But for 99% of golfers it's fantastic compared to what else you could buy for that price, brand new.

Played the K3 yesterday, there was a little wind so I wanted to see how it played in the wind. No ballooning for me, and I'm still amazed at how long the ball is. My stepson plays ProV1's, and he averages around 310 off the tee, with some bombs going 350 or so when he goes after it. He's only 25 and played baseball in college, and crushes the ball. I piped a few that were literally 2 to 3 yards short of his. The 3 piece bites and holds the greens, very little backup for me. Reached a 510 yard uphill par 5 in two, lipped out the eagle putt. Love the 3 piece, the only difference seems to be the backspin that the 4 piece gives me.

Just ordered 4 dozen K3s through a coworker, which shipping they came in at just over $15 a dozen. Hard to beat that and I enjoyed playing the one I had last week.

Now the question is do I hit through (and lose) the approximately 30 Pro V1s and Chrome Softs I have or make the switch and play the K3 and maybe by the time im done with those I will be a little better and my CS and V1 stock will last me a little longer? That K3 was just playing so well off the tee for me!

Found a K3 and played 18 holes with it. Performs and feels similar to a Bridgestone B330RX. Good deal at $1.32 (with tax and shipping) a ball.

Seems like the warehouses that have just opened have them in stock for the grand opening.

Other than that, mostly online for the most part.

Was just in the new (opened 7/25) Costco in McKinney, TX, yesterday and they had a pallet full of the K3 in the warehouse. So that may very well be the case.

Played with my buddy yesterday who is a scratch golfer. He usually always uses a ProV, finally talked him into trying out the K3 after I told him about the TXG youtube video on them. He was amazed at the spin, loved them. He told me he wanted to start buying them from me. Was a fairly windy day also; he had no trouble with the ball ballooning or ending up short.

Also, what's a good price on the 4 piece? I still have 2 dozen of them, but I have like 5 dozen of the 3pc and I don't ever see myself using the 4pc again.

I picked some up online. ~$60 shipped from Costco. Generally liked them, esp for price, but hit the ball kinda like poo the day I tried them out, so waiting for a better day to review.

I found them long enough off the driver, and wedged stuck, but awful striking day, so will update.

$60 for 4 doz btw. So just over a buck a ball.

I've also switched to the K3 from the K-sig. But I started using Titleist NXTs' that I picked up at the Pro Shop last year (Gift Certs). Like them better but they're almost gone so I'll be going back to the K3.

3 years ago I lost almost 12 Doz., 2 Years ago 9, this year I'm at 5 so far. 4 boxes are the K3's not a problem at buck+ a ball (Still have 4 boxes). :taunt:

So is the consensus that the K3 spins like crazy? Off of all clubs? More spin off the driver is actually good for me.

I would not say "spins like crazy". Spins more off short irons and wedges than any recent ball I've tried. Not twice as much or anything crazy like that but it does spin more.

It's a throwback to the earlier generations of urethane balls where they basically tried to get as low driver spin as possible, as high short-game spin as possible (your basic "spin separation) and didn't necessary have a finely-tuned spin on full iron shots. Callaway had a couple models like that back in the day, they'd suck back spectacularly on full wedge or short-iron shots but were pretty long and low spin off the driver.

I doubt K3 spins a heck of a lot more off the driver than most other urethane balls. You're just not going to find many urethane balls (even ancient designs like K3) that aren't meant to have fairly low driver spin and then higher spin at the shorter end of the bag. But it may spin a few hundred rpm more than a 4pc K-Sig or something like that.

The past 6-8 years has seen a lot of evolution in the ability of ball designers to finely calibrate spin in each area of the game, while making balls that perform (distance wise) to almost the limit of the Rules no matter what the golfer's clubhead speed. That was not always the case, there used to be a lot more tradeoffs (I'm thinking pre-2010) involved when selecting a "Tour" ball.

I get way more spin off the K4, it bites and zooms back for me, the K3 is more of a dig in and stop pretty close to the pitch mark. They both go long off the driver, have hit both 330 plus this year, but the K3 seems to find more fairways for me. Your mileage may vary of course. Both are great balls, regardless of price.

Original Ksig still going for $60 (Dbl Dozen) on Ebay...If you auction them they could bring a few bucks more or less depending on how many greater fools are lurking in the marketplace. The action on them has definitely slowed but they still move. Sold my last 2 dozen on there a few weeks ago with- in 4 hours of listing them.

I never fell that hard for them personally and neither did my golf buddies that tried them. They are serviceable for sure but to pay more than list (in some cases WAY more) is just crazy IMO. I have not tried the K3 but will get some soon. I bet I too will actually like that ball better based off what I read here from ppl who have gamed it.

Im playing a Titleist AVX my buddy gave me last week and its awesome...It really gets out there and rolls out like no other ball Ive tried. Im going to compare it against a K3 this week to get a feel for how the new Kirkland stacks up to the longest ball in my bag.

Was thinking about pulling the trigger on some K3's but I think I will hold off to see if this comes to fruition.

We'll see if the new manufacturer can replicate the performance of the Nassau ball and/or hit the same price point. I suspect only one of those will be true.
