Has Anyone Else Really Enjoyed Seeing the LPGA WITB From the U.S. Open This Week?

I know I have, personally, and I think a lot of others have as well. I really appreciate all the work Greg puts in out there for our benefit, but I'd love to see some LPGA from time to time, and Champions as well (maybe even moreso the Champions). I've seen it said here that he doesn't go to these events much, because the interest isn't there. While I agree that most would rather see the PGA bags more frequently, I have to believe there is some interest in the occasional LPGA and Champions tour pictures. I just thought this thread would be a good opportunity to show the interest is there and there is value in maybe skipping a second tier tour event a couple times a season for an LPGA or Champions major event to give us something out of the ordinary to check out.

 

Then again, maybe I am in the minority here. Either way, thanks for the cool and unique pictures this week. It really was interesting seeing what the ladies are playing.

Yes! I am often just as interested in LPGA bags as in the men's bags.

 

I am always looking for shaft length and flex for the lady pros. I miss it, when that info isn't provided. I'd love to see the club distances for all of them as well, like Golf Digest does in its print edition "What's in my Bag?" feature.

 

I can relate to these ladies. I love watching them play, and I can imagine moving around the course as they do.

 

Dustin Johnson is just inconceivable for me. He is playing a game with which I am not familiar.

Top notch - I can identify with their clubs more so than the Mens

Greg is the best, we are lucky to have him. LPGA bags seem to

be PXG heaven.

I had to chance to go watch the ladies play in Toledo many times. They got game. And typically the tourney is less crowded so it is easier to get a good spot to watch from.

I remember watch Se Ri Pak for a few holes. She was impressive.

+1 LPGA bags are awesome to look through! Due to the Asian presence there's often more "exotic" bags to see! And like above, I totally feel like I identify more with these bags than PGA!

Yes! I love gear period, and like it's been said. Most guys here are closer to LPGA speed than they are PGA speed. It's been cool to see the set ups this week.

It did seem like all of the bags were very PXG heavy, but I really don't want to put on my tin foil conspiracy hat, or look a gift horse in the mouth. I have noticed, from watching on TV, PXG does have quite a large presence on the LPGA tour. Maybe it just so happens that the players that have (*autocorrect edit- gave) the go-ahead to shoot their bags were PXG players.

I just realized nothing on any of the players from S. Korea. I was wanting to see what In Gee, So Yeon, and SH Park had in the bag.

I really like the Asian players bags especially those that are Asian companies. Much more interesting than pure silk bags loaded with clubs that look like an ad for a fastener company..

 

The PGA is interesting but pretty predictable. The Champions for me is who cares. Once the big names stopped playing I could care less what Kenny Perry etc play.

This comment is based solely on hyperbole, but I've heard that the Korean girls can be a funny bunch on the tour. Maybe they didn't want anyone shooting their bags? I'm sure Greg isn't nearly the familiar face on the LPGA range that he is on the PGA tour. Maybe they just said "no thanks"? I dunno.

I thought it was really cool to see the different shaft flexes in each bag. If I remember correctly, Lexi had an x flex tipped 1" in driver, and 5.0 in her irons. Also, a crapload of Nippon 950 shafts in irons, and hardly any Modus. But it seemed like every single wedge had Modus wedge shafts in them.

Love seeing this because these are the bags that most of us should probably play. Drop the 4i, go to hybrid and multiple woods. I know this is GolfWRX so everyone here has a SS of 120, but even me with my SS of 105 my 4H is higher, straighter, and more consistent as a 195-205 yard club at sea level (like 220 here at altitude) than the accompanying 4i. And I can still punch out with a 5i just as well. The only times I miss a 4i is when my ego gets involved.

 

Keep the women's bags coming, love seeing how they set up to navigate a course.

I watch the LPGA more than the PGA Tour. The guys are hitting so far it is hard to identify with them.

To be fair, there was a Lexi Thompson (Cobra) and Brooke Henderson (Ping) WITB, off the top of my head. Like I said, maybe the PXG heavy bags were the only ones willing to be photographed?

My list is different than yours- I'd have the Champions much higher. Mostly because there'd be a bunch of 5-10 year old (at least) stuff in there, which I enjoy seeing in a professional's bag more than the "latest/ greatest" that they're forced to play. We can all have differing opinions on what we'd like to see though. Cheers!

I found that only a few Monday parts were PXG heavy, then some mixed in on Tuesday. However, the rest, minus a few repeat bag pics, were actually quite varied.

I would rather see Champions for the reasons stated above. I realize it's probably impossible to do, but a WITB for every state amateur champion would be interesting
