Those numbers sound awfully similar to a regular tournament. It's the US Open, it shouldn't even be close to even (although I admit it doesn't have to be as bad as yesterday).

The average score right now is 72.1. +2. That doesn't happen much on the PGA Tour after the cut unless weather intervenes.

I don't know what you want. This is the perfect mix of protecting par while giving the players a chance to make some birdies.

They want a sufferfest, they don't even care if they see great golf.

Shooting +2 on a hard course can be more impressive than -8 on an easy course. I don’t need to see a 65 to recognize good golf. I like the US Open because if you can’t lose your concentration for 1 shot. Every other week the players only make bogies if they have a couple of bad shots on one hole

I saying +5 wins this. The wind is picking up and it is going to expose these guys once they get to the tougher back nine. Watch out for Matty Fitz

Looks like Fleetwood is going to post something lower than that and see if anyone can catch him.

I picked him in my pool, this is just shocking

If that is what you want then they should stop playing the US Open at this course.

The wind is supposed to protect this course and the USGA has zero control over that.

For those of you defending this course setup today what are your expectations of the US Open? This is not traditional US Open golf. This is bordering on Bob Hope Desert Classic stuff. The pressure of a major will get to some no matter what the course but this course is playing way to easy. As far as the tournament so far so good. Lots of guys in it, going to be interesting finish.

Those that complained that yesterday the course was too tough, will probably complain today that it is too easy.

Not me. This is great. A perfect mix. Showcasing the players and course, not USGA manipulations.

It really is a personal choice isn't it, which you like better. For me, I feel like we get low scoring on a weekly basis. I like, once a yea, to see them struggle.

Rose and Stenson played great golf yesterday to shoot rounds just over par.

I like the concept of surviving to win the Open. Others like to see birdies. All good, no matter which, just hope it's an exciting finish.

So we are all dying to know how to properly pronounce Brooks’s name.

I don't know but it can't be how they are pronouncing it FFS. It sounds ridiculous. But that's just me, as an international viewer :)

It just irritates me that is all.

Not sure with brooks but

Alot of families from all over the globe "americanize" the pronunciation of their last names over the generations.

“That’s too much sugar for a nickel right there”.....WTF?

Zinger just keeps throwing them out there.

I don’t get the Azinger hate. I think he’s a pretty cool cat. The kind of cat that would like to lick the beard off Beef’s face and then go chase the rabbits around in the briar patch. Because you know, rabbits like briar patches.

Could be wrong but at a glance

I doubt the aggregate scores off all players will be much under par today if at all

Sure, yesterday's conditions were borderline Fair, but I think the golfers have been to use to cream puff conditions on the rest of the tour outings using driver wedge to a green that's very receptive. If they played smartly yesterday for the center of the green, for the most part, they would have been okay. This is turning out to be a great finish as of right now.

It shouldn't be. One really bad hole by one player (Phil yesterday) can completely offset a great round by someone else (Fleetwood today) or several good solid rounds.
