I don't know but it can't be how they are pronouncing it FFS. It sounds ridiculous. But that's just me, as an international viewer :)

Course set up is OK today. Read and Fleetwood are about the only ones tearing it up right now. That is just good at golf.Back nine is playing harder than the front nine.

Just like so many yesterday hit really bad shots.

 

They hit bad shots because the course gave them no opportunities.

 

Scoring average today is still +2. This course is anything but easy. It's the perfect mix, to be honest. It's just a shame the USGA screwed the pooch with the course manipulations yesterday.

 

When you set up a course fair, water it properly, this is what you get - a great round where the players are showcased and great play is rewarded.

 

Yeah, when DJ yesterday blocked a five iron 25 yards off line, that's because the course took away opportunities. If there were NO opportunities, then how did Rose and Stenson post good numbers?

 

Rose made 2 birdies yesterday and Stenson made 1. Stenson shot +5 on the back.

I watched two guys, in incredibly difficult conditions, shoot rounds very close to par. Better than most who played at that time. Seems pretty evident to me.

 

Last time I looked they don't give separate awards for the different nines, so I don't know why you choose to use his back nine score to bolster your argument. I wait, yes I do.

 

But I'm done arguing this. We don't agree on it and that's fine. Go ahead and make your argument and we'll let it end and just enjoy the rest of the round. Yesterday is water under the bridge at this point.

Why wouldn't one expect a course record to come at a US Open?

 

You've got all the best golfers in the world playing your course 4x. Any round that you're going to count for a "course record" is going to be under prime conditions. These guys should be shooting the course record for the national championship.

Not really a great US Open since 2008. Merion would probably rate second for me. At this point I would probably start putting The Open ahead of The US Open. The Masters is by far the best. British and PGA are what they are and US Open has lost its identity.
