Another old pre WW2 course that was built with greens meant to be played at 8 or 9 on the stimp and they put them at 12 +. Retarded.

 

They made the greens far more severe back then as a counter for the fact the grass was kept significantly longer. The architects must be rolling over in their graves seeing this idiocy.

I love it. They actually made the course easier than it was the last time it was played as far as the greens and #7 is concerned. The players whined quite a bit but its nice to see a course bring these guys to their knees. Who wants to see -15 in a major every year?

 

I like the fact this course exposes the greatest players in the world. They have the best equipment and are in better shape, yet they cannot conquer this beast. I love it

really? And Augusta's greens are not severe? The reason why it's playing as hard because the wind has picked up and making these guys uncomfortable. Many golden age course are defenseless thanks to the aerial game. This course is awesome.
