I have STi2 currently. I have grown to like them more but it’s always a love hate relationship with them.

I'm talking about the STi, not the STi2.  The STi are just like the KE4 Max.

Yes I do have Score LT shafts in them. It kind of feels like a creak or crack in the hosel, it feels weird though when you transition and get this feeling and sound up the shaft

I agree. Unsettling at first. I’ve been playing the PTMs off and on for a year now with no problems. Just occasional creaking.😄

Update on the KE4 TC FW 14°. Distance wise it's exactly what I hoped for. Steady 250y. The KE4 4W at 16° has always been 235y. I play the 3w almost an inch longer.

I was hesitant to ad the 14° because I was sure that the distance gain was going ro be minimal. It's a lot more than minimal. Using the liteweight driver shaft makes the 3W just as easy to play as the 4W. My TS-2 4i is good for 215 so now the top of my bag is well covered.

I don't carry a hybrid as the 4i Is plenty long enough and the 4W is very easy to layoff and sneak a 220 shot in there with control.

Can't wait for the weather to turn so I can play my first round of the year.

So would these be an upgrade over the old M+ wedges? I still have a 56/62 with the Maltby pro shaft that I play.  I like to take my eye completely off the ball and chunk wedge shots a few times a round but I don't think any wedge will fix that issue.

In a way yes they are an upgrade for several reason. If your M Series are still fairly fresh then no.

A big thing is they are bendable.  M Series are not. They are softer feeling when striking the ball. M Series can feel a bit clunky at times but they are quute a bit harder. Though the grooves should last longer being a harder metal. They have a certain level of weight adjustment. They have a shorter hosel with a little better weight distribution. Scoring lines are much longer which will help on a toe strike. All else is pretty equal.

So yes they certainly are an upgrade but you could wait until your wedges wear out.

You guys need to stop worrying about the curve and just hit them. It's a great wedge.

True but past experience tells me if the offset looks bad (to my eye) and that specific element of the offset, it's no bueno for me....it's distracting, off-putting!  And I'm no snob either, have played clubs with a little/moderate offset no problem, big chunky CB's, etc.  These would be right up my alley with the sole width and sole relief upgrade from the M+.  I'll likely snag a 1.05 at some point and give it a go!

I tried to bend a MG tour grind and that didn’t work out so good. It snapped real quick!!!!

Someone posted pictures on the Golfworks site.  I believe the issue is the .90 versions appear to have the front leading edge either cut down or something to create that odd transition in the hosel.  The 1.05 58* that was posted looks great but you can easily see it on the 54*.

So it seems that if you are someone who would be bothered by that transition (i.e. me) you need to go with the 1.05 versions and hope the lower lofted .90s aren't as bad.

I'm sorry, I never had the M Series + but I did have the original M Series (and I believe the + were identical). These are NOT the same profile.  The M Series did not have that weird hosel transition.  I played a 52 and a 58* for two years.

And even if they are identical, for those who didn't play the M+ these have a weird transition.  I know you are a big Golfworks fan, but it's OK to be critical of certain elements as this will help them hopefully improve.

I’ll post some pictures compared to the TSW and it’s got a little bit of that going on as well. Just not as pronounced.

either way it’s a great head and shouldn’t hold someone back from trying one.

It makes me wonder if they reduced their cost of the head molds, by having 56* heads adjusted to 54* and 52* heads adjusted to 50* at the factory....which would increase the offset by about .75mm and decrease the bounce by 2*.

I know they did this with their TSW wedges, where they have 3 molds used to make 6 lofts.  On these they show it in the specs for the offset.

Anybody get some on course time with the Max wedges yet?

I’m thinking 54 in the 1.05 since I don’t manipulate the face much and typically use it for 3/4 to full swings and bump and runs around the green. I’ve got a TSW and while I love it around the green, I’m not confident enough with it on full swings as I’m too steep and it’ll dig on me.

I’m then thinking 56 in the .90, bent to 58+. Hopefully the .90 will still allow for some face opening and the additional bounce should help my usual fat miss.

My course is usually firm and tight. What do you guys think?

I will be getting out this weekend with my 54 / 60.  I have hit some flops in my garage with the 60 1.05 and it was easier than I thought it would be to open it up without the leading edge getting too crazy

I did play nine holes with mine and the first thought is they just glide through the turf. It was a limited sample but first real impression was great. I was able to mindlessly hit them.

Ha!  I'm all about "mindless" golf with no-brainer clubs.  With that endorsement, figured it was time to place the order for a 58* Max.  Done.  Get one built for when the cold weather and snow finally ends.  Sometime in June.
