Smoothest swing you've seen live?

Watched Freddie Couples up close for 18 holes and he is the smoothest I've seen.

Probably Jim Furyk or Vijay Singh... Fred Couple's swing is up there as well.

Many of the pros are much smoother in person.

 

 

Tiger on the range is known for being smooth, but when I saw him in person warming up, it was even smoother than I expected. Ball still leapt off the clubface.

I watched Louis Oosthuizen on the range at Erin Hills last summer. I was giggling like a school girl. Effortless towering iron shots.

Very few names here of guys born in the later 80's or later.

 

I really like Rorys swing but I like it just because its not smooth. It really looks as if he whacks the ball and I like that too. Same goes for JT. I have not seen them live unfortunately and will probably never do. Top golfers rarely come here.

Louie O and Adam S are two of the best swings I've ever seen and will stop everything to see them swing when they come on tv. There's lots of great golfers out there nowadays too.

Fred couples...easily.

 

Got a face-on view of him hitting 6 iron on 2 tee at bay hill. He said "I'm gonna jump on a 6" but the swing was still ultra smooth.

Gary Hallberg. Saw him play in a college tournament in Statesboro when he was at Wake Forest in 1979 & 1980. He won the individual title in 79 & lost a playoff to Hal Sutton in 1980. Was surprised he didn't have a better career as a professional.

Lot of cred on here for Tom Purtzer, he gets my vote too along with Ernie and Freddie.

Back in the 80’s i bought a VHS instructional video featuring Couples hitting the driver, Purtzer the irons and Lehman ? the short game. It was narrated by Peter Kostis and showed their swings from all angles and in slow motion with really bad background music.

I have stood less than 10 feet away from these guys at a few tournaments while they hit shots, itʻs a different sound and ball flight that most of us arenʻt familiar with.

Matteo Manassero had a smooth swing, the day he won the BMW PGA. I was on the range and his smooth swing catched me so hard, that I had to follow him for the round. Turned out, that he won the tournament...

Not a huge name golfer but John Senden has the most relaxed, rhythmic swing you would ever see. Like the Bruce Lee analogy of letting your body be water, Senden becomes the golf swing.

His ball striking has always been elite, and but let down by a shaky short game. A bit like Scotty.

i remember seeing goosen (who i have seen live) for the first time on euro tour on golf channel. was probably the nicest swing i'd ever seen and i immediately googled him (probably partially due unique name too)...

 

i would have to say though that the smoothest swing i've seen in person is stephen ames. i remember specifically thinking "wow, that is smooth". 14th hole at glen abbey in toronto FYI was the moment

In person, they all look so much smoother than they do on tv, but of all the times I’ve been to the Shell Houston Open, Ernie had the absolute smoothest most effortlessly powerful swing I have ever witnessed.
