Ror's won't be watching because he will be too busy practicing.. Poor kid can't make a cut let alone get some free time to watch a 43 y/o, who is going to outplay him in all of the 2019 majors.. :golfer:Sponsor $, their $, your $... I am just tuning in to watch the side action... should be great fun.

I wouldn’t watch either if I was those pros. Those two are playing for 9 mil, I’d be jealous

My birthday is the 22nd, the day before the Match. I have tons of golfer friends and relatives and not one of them offered to spring for the ppv as a gift. I am proud of them.

Rory's second big announcement of the day. He's not watching.

https://www.golf.com...on-missed-mark/

I appreciate Rory and JT's honesty but I wonder how the PGA Tour feels about their statements. While they are all independent contractors one would think that this is something that could be good for the PGA Tour and ultimately the players on Tour. Depending on the success I could see this becoming an annual event where one year might feature JT vs Spieth or Rory vs. Reed. It ultimately could become something that puts a lot of money in their pockets, so not sure why they wouldn't want to support it.

I don’t actually think Rory was being genuine, it will be entertaining when he inevitably, as always, has to eat crow.

Can Paulina and Michelle Wie play each other in bikini's?

Please god no, Paulina comes off as insufferable and Leadbetter has completely f***** Wie’s swing to the point she now looks like a robot who just happens to play very average golf.

That said, I would take Danielle Kang versus anyone if she was mic’d up and there were no penalties for language.

Reed versus Kang, or at the very least Kang vs. Wie since they are friends so it should extra interesting, either way make it happen.

Wait, Reed as in Patrick Reed? vs Kang, and they’re wearing bikinis? Come on man, that’s just wrong.

What range do you play at? A large bucket at my course is only $6 (if I pay $25 it includes 18).

How about reading the survey results? Only 17% of respondents displayed price sensitivity, the same small number that are actually going to pay watch.

I find it funny to see how many people think the "no" voters are lying.

I'm not going to watch. Period.

I might have tuned in for a bit if it was free, to see how it was going. But there's no way I'm wasting 3 or 4 hours of my time, and donating $25 to 2 of the richest athletes in the sport. Like many others, I'll have plenty of chances to watch them play in real events, where they actually have to beat 100+ other pros to get a win.

There's some talk of some of the money going to charities. It's not clear at all which charities or how much. Seems like an afterthought made in response to some public criticism.

Just so much wrong with how they're doing it.

Hater! Liar! There's no way you're skipping the event of the century! THE MATCH is worth at least 10 majors!

Definitely gonna give it a watch. I've said before...the money and charity and all that crap doesn't mean anything to me. I would watch if there was no money??? All pro's in all sports play for money... I would still watch football if they didn't. Heck..I watch bass fishing and they basically have to pay money to fish in the tournaments...lol.

Of course...I like Tiger and Phil as great golfers go.

Why did no one try to change this? TMAG has an insane marketing budget. Callaway (more R&D but still its publicly traded on the NYSE) and Nike come on Mr. Knight. Just give them ad time, KPMG (why not), PGA of America, Golf Now, Capital One and Samuel L. Jackson = Public Cable Televised. Paper-view killed it, Shoulda been at Cyprus. Depends where I'm at.

For me it has nothing to do with the fact that they are rich (good for them). But agree, the casual viewer, channel flipper or the guy that only can watch for an hour now won't be watching it--- I don't have three hours to dedicate to it and the event itself isn't very compelling. The banter on WRX will be entertaining enough and doesn't require me to be tied down.

Fascinating the lengths that some people are going to, to say they will not watch this.

Those that are so against it are also the most active posters on this topic. Very interesting.

It's not a big deal obviously but it's just an interesting example of something that someone can profess to not care about or be willing to spend $20 to watch, yet they will spend 30 days talking about it.

If this event is successful (and we have 14 pages of evidence saying that it WILL be successful) then it could be an annual thing. TW vs Rors is an obvious candidate for next year, maybe even TW vs Spiethster. TW vs Sergio even could work if they muted Sergio's mic.

Hmmm... Did you you see the survey?
