But, at least there's a 'Fix' for it!...

Once you've applied 'The SLDR Fix', those dreaded 'low hooks' that seem to come out of nowhere will be a thing of the past and you can welcome your original Retail (2013-2014) SLDR Driver back to your bag!... :yahoo:

Note: This Fix is not applicable for SLDR Tour Issued Drivers, the (2015) SLDR-'C', nor the SLDR Mini Driver Those models have a different weighting scheme than the original SLDR Drivers from 2013-2014.

:golfer:

What about the TP 430 Japan (black)??

That Driver has a flatter lie, and a different stock shaft, but otherwise it's the same SLDR 430 clubhead...just a different color...

2016 m1/m2. Performance was good(especially m2) but structurally they didn't hold up to high speeds.

Woah. You're talking about the 2016M2 AKA the GOAT. I guess my paltry 115 swing speed (on a good day) isn't enough to crack it, I know you bring some serious heat though. For most, the 2016M2 is pretty tough to beat.

Oh I know the 2016m2 is one of the best in all around performance. I may just be bitter since I didnt get to enjoy them. I cracked 5 2016 m models(2m1’s, 3-m2’s) all with less than 20 swings. Performance is highly subjective like the OP said so I went with structural. The 2017m2 held up and now m3. So they seemingly solved the weld cracking issue for the most part.

Haha, this is wonderful and explains my demo of the SLDR...

I literally CRUSHED it for 10 holes. Just in places I didn't know I could BE on the golf course. Almost hit into a group on the first tee because I was 40 yards off the green...

Then on 11 I decided to stop letting the club decide where the ball went and tried to put a draw on it... Hooked it worse than I've ever hooked anything and couldn't get it back to save my life the rest of the day.

I'm still probably going to buy a used one!

RBZ 2 (kind of pushing the 5 year mark, I can't remember when it actually released).

There are plenty of my buddies that still have one and hit it fine. I cannot get the damn thing to even remotely fly like a golf shot. Probably 100% between the ears, but I cannot figure it out.

No clue on how to answer the OP's original question, but I hit a couple/few drivers each year - most recently a 400 MAX, and a couple of Callaway's latest and one M4. I have a SLDR in my bag (and have for the past couple of years). They all work fine. Frankly, the main differences I note are in sound and looks, but I'm quite certain I could be happy with any of them.

The last driver I truly didn't like hitting was in the sub 300cc category (though will admit some Nike's made some awful noises.) I've hit recent-ish box-set drivers that were better than top-end clubs were from that past era.

For me, the original Nike Covert was awful, and I couldn't hit the Epic to save my life.

I never put either in play. These were only my findings from demo days and a driver fitting in the case of the Epic. I think a different shaft may have got the Epic working for me, but the Covert was beyond redemption.

To be fair I have no idea if it was a good or bad driver, but felt like the Callaway Optiforce was on the market for about 3 days then re-released the Big Bertha series.

The original Nike Covert was so bad it was almost amusing. I can remember hitting shots that felt relatively good that ended up 50 yards offline. I was so confused by the performance I had friends hit it and they were seeing the same thing. God what an awful club.

Also the PXG 0811XF might be one of the most hated driver heads in the last 5 years. It was generally panned in all reviews.

I scooped one off of Ebay and stuck a Speeder Evo I in it. It's a 12 degree with a 1.5 degree closed face (I think), but I have the shaft turned which adjusts to 10.5 with a square face. The driver feels like a modified Ping K15, which was one of my favorite drivers early on in my development.

Not sure about the standard Optiforce but the 440 was excellent. I agree that the Cobra f6+ was a disappointment. I couldn't get over the sound and I really wanted to like it.

I too am in on the Cobra disappointment, but with the f7+. I snagged it on the Fathers Day free fairway deal, and couldn't get it to work for anything for me. Side by side vs other clubs, different shafts, nada. Then again I didn't get along with the unicorn LTD either, so maybe it's just a me and Cobra thing.

Wilson Triton. How can a company that comes to market with nice looking irons produce something so hideous? With almost any Wilson wood you know that you'll be able to pick it up for less than half price before the end of the season.

Why would anyone want a bad driver at half price?

Wilson took a chance. Not like they were selling lots of drivers before the show started. They just rushed the process and should have chosen the second-place driver.

Optiforce 440 was a cannon for me, back in it's day.

I say any "mini-driver" that were on the market for a while, went away pretty fast.

You cracked 5 driver heads? Have you considered using tees made from plastic instead of concrete?
