Worst Driver in the last 5 years.

Wilson Triton. How can a company that comes to market with nice looking irons produce something so hideous? With almost any Wilson wood you know that you'll be able to pick it up for less than half price before the end of the season.

 

Why would anyone want a bad driver at half price?

 

Wilson took a chance. Not like they were selling lots of drivers before the show started. They just rushed the process and should have chosen the second-place driver.

 

Now they are doing a second competition. .....

My nomination should have an asterisk as it technically falls under the driver category, but I doubt many would consider it a true Driver. Callaway Big Bertha Mini Driver 1.5 . It’s an interesting concept, but my goodness the sound. Everytime I hit it on the range people stopped what they were doing and turned to look for that terrible noise. One time I got it out of my bag and on the first swing, I caught the guy beside me off guard. You’d have thought I was hiding behind his golf bag and jumped out and yelled BOOOOO! at him in his backswing. He jumped so much. Funny from my perspective. Not as much from his.

The SLDR 430 had a sweet spot so small they needed to use the CERN hadron collider in Europe to theoretically prove it exists

 

However I just couldn't put it on the list, I swear I hit the sweet spot once and it was magical

I call it the devils club.

That one good one that drags you into the hell of low snap hooks.

Always loved seeing one in an opponents hands, it means I had 2 holes in hand before the match started.

Funny - for me the SLDR was the best driver I’ve ever hit. And it broke. I should have bought another but went to the 2017 M1 which I also like.

The SLDR release date was 8/9/2013; that's over five years, so we don't have to hear about it again.

I thought for sure that the Bertha Mini would solve my driving woes. I found that I was just as inconsistent as my normal driver, it just went 20 yards less. I quickly went back to driver-3W.

I’ ve had the l25 and F6+ and hit my son’s F7. When hit on the sweet spot the l25 is wonderful. When missed it may only go 60% of a well struck one. The F6+ may sound funky at times but it doesn’t lose much on miss hits. I’ll take the F6+.

Relative to expectations, the Epic and 915 drivers were the worst for me. Overall just plain worst though I’m going to go with Covert Tour. Killed the demo in the hitting bay the winter it came out so I ordered one, but when it finally warmed up it was awful for me on the course and felt like a brick when missed slightly. I got rid of it almost immediately.

OP is not alone!

 

I am firmly in the G400 max crew, the G25 was my GOAT driver I'll never part with...

 

That being said, I did not like the Ping G one bit. Never worked for me. Not my worst driver of the last five years though.

 

The SLDR takes the cake for me. I tried at least 5 shafts, different lofts, different weight configurations and although 1 in 10 usually put me at a new personal LD record, I had no consistency or confidence. Never hit so many loose shots.

I really loved the 2016 M2 (look / sound / feel / performance) and love both the M3 and M4 but for some reason i absolutely hated both 2017 models, tried what seemed like every shaft and loft combo and just never could get it to feel or sound right for me, obviously both of those things couldn't be more subjective... but they would have to get my vote

I'm on the SLDR bandwagon. I had a 9.5, 10.5 460 heads and 2 12* 430 heads. None of them were consistent. The 430 12* were the best but soooooo inconsistent.
