Got the full scoop on these today. If this has already been posted, I am sorry. I have gotten behind on these threads lately.

Basically this is all about max CT on every head. TM is basically building every head illegal. Then they have 2 small chambers on the back of the face they can inject resin into to dampen the CT back into legal range. There is a price increase and they are promoting it as every head it checked, measured and maxed out for distance. No more will you have some heads that are duds and some that are over tolerance. Its going to be funny when those that don't mind being illegal take those screws out and melt out the resin.

I am glad they are finally trying to find a way to check the quality of these from head to head I have felt to many times over the years that the driver I bought was a dud and no real way to prove it.

So do we officially get to see full pictures tomorrow since it’s December 13? I know a bunch of people had said that fittings start on the 13.

I sure hope so..

Our club has a NDA....we value the TM opportunity so this also protects us and our relationship.

Do you have them in stock now for fitting?

Let’s hope this new release sounds better than the Flash. Apparently the Flash is overly loud in the Subzero per that thread

I saw that same user said the front weight was only 2 grams. Wonder if a heavier weight would help. I know the Epic SZ was a different driver when you put the heavy weight forward.

Believe me I'm on board with driver innovation 100% - I want a driver I can pound 300 yards without having to think about a thing.

That being said, I'm curious what's "innovative" about these new drivers?

Hookers can repackage the same product and sell it over and over again, not so sure major golf companies can.

I don't know that I buy anything being far superior to the drivers we saw 2-3 years ago. I never noticed TwistFace to have much of an effect, definitely never saw HammerHead having an effect, Jailbreak may have been innovative in Epic, but it was just repackaged in Rogue.

They tell us "Forged face, Milled face, Speed Slot, Compression Channel, Y-Track, etc. etc. etc." but does the data support an M6 being superior to a 2016 M2 by more than maybe 200 RPM and 2mph ball speed? In the hands of 95% of golfers that is negligible. Especially as the price point is now reaching $600 w/ a stock shaft.

I've owned drivers from every major OEM besides Titleist in the last 3 years and can genuinely say shaft makes sooooo much more of a difference than driver. If you want to spend big dollars, spend it there.

Late night rant over - should probably go succumb to the NyQuil I took 2 hours ago. Damn colds that my kids bring home :D

have hit everything as well and dont even think shaft is that big a deal as long as your in ballpark and it feels good....drivers look fancy but gains are minimal....still play a G30 and owned G400 awhile back.....have an M4 but pretty much same as my M2 cept looks lil better

Will not be getting M5/M6 until they discount it maybe in a year or so

Looking at the M5, it wouldn’t look so cheap if the sliding weight track and weights were metal and not plastic. I’m sure it’s done to re-distribute weight around and stuff but makes it look cheap. Just my 2 cents.

Adams claimed to do something similar with the last XTD driver. Saying they checked all the heads to ensure you got the best performing one?

From the google

“ Adams tests every single head four times to ensure that every face is as hot as possible while maintain all USGA legalities.”

I guess it was easy for them to do. They probably sold 800 of them...

So let’s just add some screws and some unicorn foam and call it a day.

So speedfoam touching the face makes these drivers LESS hot? Shouldn’t it be renamed BRAKEfoam? Or SLOWfoam?

Does hotmelt on the back of the face have the same effect?

Can some one please confirm if they offer 80+ stock shafts? E.g., PX Smoke

Cheers

Smoke doesn’t come in an 80g. It only comes 60/70g (check PX website). Also, as of right now the only 80g+ option they offer is the Fuji Pro 2.0 TS which is a custom option with a $150 upgrade cost. Hope this helps

The PX site doesn't always list all available options.

They also don't list an 80g version of the original Black, Yellow, Evenflow T1100, etc...which are all real and available.

For whatever reason there are several OEM sites like that.

Sounds great and I didn’t realize that. Hopefully they will offer it then, but I’ll believe it when I see it since they only offer 1 80g shaft right now.

Can already get a tour issue head with exact specs you want and basically max CT for $450.00 brand new now in the M3/M4. If TM guarantees you max CT but then the loft and face angle are way off(doesnt sound like they are guaranteeing that part is correct) doesnt do you much good at $550+ for a new driver with stock shaft

Could be that Titleist has a deal in place to have exclusivity on certain models/weights, as they were the first OEM to offer the Smoke as a stock shaft.

Not Speedfoam in the woods. Its resin and definitely different. I know they were very proud of Speedfoam as it enhanced or at least did not hurt rebound on the irons.

It's funny that everyone is excited to be maxed at the limit of COR. I remember having conversations about buying retail heads was better than buying tour heads since one of every few heads would be hotter than max. I guess those days of getting an illegally hot head are gone for TM.

The speedfoam itself does not create more ball speed... it allows TM to create a club head with more trampoline effect via a thinner metal face that in turn has more ball speed. It is really only there to keep the thinner face from caving.

You're implying that you would get a sub-standard head most of the time, which makes me want to know that the head started too hot and was checked that it was right.

That's why the USGA started to randomly test some drivers at the amateur events.

Ever since Nike got in hot water back in 2007 for some retail Sumo SQ drivers that tested past the limit, no OEM has sold anything that's hotter than max. None of them wanted the bad publicity. If anything, that incident caused them all to be a little more conservative and extend their tolerances further away from the limit to ensure everything at retail was conforming.

I'd rather know I'm at the limit of manufacturing tolerances than gamble with getting one that is well below. Don't know how much a difference it'll make. But, it's an interesting concept and will possibly a good marketing point. I'll give it a fair shake even though I'm pretty much on the Epic Flash hype train.
