I ordered a 939X hybrid last week from the Canadian website. Order process was smooth and easy (everything was in Canadian dollars, too). We'll see how the shipping goes whenever my order is ready. I'm always nervous about the carrier hitting me up for ridiculous customs "processing" fees when ordering from US-based companies.

Update on ordering from Canada: I received my hybrid on Friday, basically 3 weeks from order to having it in-hand. As promised, it shipped from Canada so there were no customs fees or issues. The only weird thing is that the web site still shows my order as "in process" so I wasn't expecting it to show up, but I am the opposite of disappointed. I didn't think there was any way I'd get it before the end of the season.

UPS thought it might be faster to send my new 949X 4W to Houston first, rather than straight from Chicago to Detroit. So after notifying me that I'd get it last Saturday, I now won't see it until this Friday.  😲

Me too. Debating 699 or 699 Pros. Or the Takomos which I was interested in before I heard of the Sub70s. If the Takomos weren't so slow with delivery I would of ordered months ago but have reservations now and for a few bucks more Sub70 seems a well run plus USA company.

Just my 2cents, I cant recommend New Level golf enough.  They just added some new products to their site also.  The 902-OS and 902-PD seem to be in the same neighborhood as the 699 products from Sub70 in terms of playability

https://www.newlevelgolf.com/online-store/902-OS-Forged-Irons-p394309838

https://www.newlevelgolf.com/online-store/902-PD-Forged-Irons-p404989309

only caveat is those new products are in pre-order status, the PF-1 and PF-2 are available now but definitely not as forgiving as the 699's

In the Past 2 years I have played JPX919 forged, P790/P770 combo, Srixon ZX5 and by far I have liked my 699 Pro better than them. The ZX5 I loved but the sole I had issues with once the ground firmed up.  I won't sell my 699 Pro, they are a permanent set for me whether primary or back up.

Just picked up some 649 Tour MB Raw. Getting them shafted up with the same Accra iSteel 125's in my New Level PF1's. Cant wait to hit both head to head. Im really pulling for the 649's bc I love raw clubs

Thank you guys for your reply. I played the Modus 105 previously in my irons so hopefully Sub70 offers those at not too much of an upcharge.

Also hoping that shipping wont take too long (I know greedy) just over the shipping delays of the major OEMS

How is the feel of the 699 Pro's? at least compared to a forged head?

I have 4-PW in 699 Pro. I was playing z765 irons previously. I love them. They feel superb and sound great. The short irons have a larger look to the heads than I was used to, but when I'm actually standing on grass with a ball on the ground, I don't really notice. The 4 iron is a thing of beauty though, and I love a good 4 iron 👍 After getting this set, I don't think I'll be going back to the big OEM's for irons ever again.

Edit to add - the feel is certainly different to my z765's. The 699 Pro's don't feel quite as dense, but to me, they feel like they are firing the ball off the face a little quicker which I actually quite like. I was worried about the feel as I'd never hit a foam filled iron before but I'd say it took me about 9 holes to get used to, and then enjoy, the feel of the 699 Pro's.

Thank you for the insight I appreciate it!

I think I will be pulling the trigger on these. Have a set of Modus 105 shafts ill likely swap in for the KBS 105 offering but super excited. 699 Pro's 6-PW (would love the black finish but too OCD to deal with wear) lol

I was able to take try out the new 949X 4 wood on the course last week. Didn't get to practice with it at all, due to bad weather, but I pulled it out on the 2nd hole, and hit a perfect shot down the middle. Hit it two more times off the tee, with great results.

I set it to 1° open, as I prefer a more open face. Got a really nice high ball flight, similar to a 5w, but with a flatter trajectory, and longer. Easy to hit a high baby draw.

Really happy with it, along with the 849 Pro Driver. Playing both with the Proforce V2 Black shafts. 60g in driver, and 70g in 4W.

I'm heading to Phoenix in 2 weeks, so I'll get to practice with it a little then, before packing it up for the winter.

How are you liking that Proforce V2 black in your 4wood?  I went back in forth for a long while about ordering that for my 699u Pro 4 iron but ended up going with the Evenflow Riptide… still not 100% sure I made the right decision on it outside of the fact that I’ve loved the Evenflow black and blue in every club I’ve hit them in so hoping the riptide continues that.   I just know I gamed the original V2 back in the day and loved it.

Unfortunately, I've literally only hit 3 balls with it. And I probably won't hit another ball here in Michigan until Easter.

But I do like it from what I've seen, feels really good, with very good ballflight. I've been playing it in the driver for two months, and the 4W seems to be very similar. It seems to want to hit the ball very straight.

I've never hit an Evenflow, so can't compare them.

Played the last round of the year in the PNW on Saturday and the first good chance to play with the new 699 irons. Pleased with the results so far. Greens were very soft but had some shots that practically stopped in the ball mark and I generally struggle to get a lot of spin. Also, had some really nice pitches with the 286 wedge that resulted in up and downs from the fairway. Seeing more draw with these irons than my last set which is nice, but will take an adjustment. Hoping to fill the last gap next year with a LH699U 4i and I'd be set for a while with the heart of the bag.

Thanks for posting this - I am coming from the Z765 irons, as well, and thinking of trying the Sub70s. Did you think the 639s would be similar to what you were used to - what got you to the 699 Pros? Did they feel easier/harder to hit from a forgiveness standpoint than the Z765s. I love how soft the forging is on the Z765s - was this forging similar - I know you mentioned it firing off the ball quicker, but did it not feel as soft?
