Everybody complains about golf announcers. So.....Mike Tirico is excellent. Wish he was on more. He asks excellent questions in interviews. Has a great delivery and is prepared. That is all.

 

The old ESPN/ABC Open Championship coverage was spectacular with Tirico leading the way. I wish we got some of that with the new shot tracer technology of today. Would be a fantastic broadcast.

Was listening to a pod this morning, apparently the last few winners have all been within five of the lead on the first day of the tournament. Which is interesting considering the "log jam" we have at the top of the leader board now.

Just saw Tiger tee off with a driver on 14. Not too long ago, GC replayed is his 2013 TPC victory. I think his swing looks soooo much better now than it did then. He may have won the tournament back then but, man, that was an ugly swing. It's so much more free and liberated now.

When he did hockey ... the toughest sport to broadcast for the 1st time and was superb. A true talent this guy.

i think this event is under appreciated .. i love that it is at the same track annually just like ANGC .. I know some of you abhor the 5th major thing

 

I do think they should perhaps consider lengthening 16 and 18 a little

 

I like the March slot before the Masters as well. Get your golf late spring / winter fix in earlier

Rickie doesn't want to hear this, but he needs to ditch those long irons for fairways and hybrids. He's shanked, skulled, hooked, and fatted so many long irons that lead to double bogey's it's getting more embarrasing than if he just put a 2,3, and 4 hybrid in the bag.
