PXG 0211 irons - what do you think?

Relax partner, I know exactly what you said. Good luck to PXG selling 0211’s at anything higher than what they are right now. There are 5,000 sets on eBay that you can get at even a cheaper price now.

I did a worldwide search on ebay and it looks like only 23 sets of the PXG 0211's irons are available now...they must've sold fast

I know this post is old, but I just got fitted into these irons. I got them at $95 a club, 750ish after shipping and tax. I've been playing with them for about a month now, I work at a golf course so I play/hit the range a lot, and I can say for sure they are just not for me. I have no idea why I hit them so well in the fitting, and now have such a disdain for them. I am seriously considering trading them in for a loss against a set of Cobra Forge tec black or mb/cb set.

PGA Value Guide is showing $85/club trade-in value. I don’t think you’d take much of a loss at all, especially if you get in on a trade enhancement deal that tends to pop up periodically. I’d move pretty quick thou as the Hero pricing has definitely driven down secondary prices. When I bought my 6 iron set for $500 I thought I’d be able to flip them for a nice profit if they didn’t work. Luckily they did because now I’d barely break even.

If I trade them in, the best I've found is $570, $551 if I trade them into Cobra against a new set. Which at this point I'm damn near willing to take just to not play them anymore. I'd list them for sale here, but you need 75 post, and I'm no where near that.

Question re: the progressive nature of the 0211 set as it relates to the gen 2 0311. I know the longest irons are supposed to be comparable to the XF, and the short irons to the P... at which club does it “transition” from aligning with the P to the XF? Or are the sizes of the 0211 not aligned with the 0311?

I don’t know the specific irons it transitions but I know the long irons are equivalent to XFs in sole width, the mid irons a new size between XF and P and then the short irons are similar in sole width to the P.

I’m with you. They look great IMO. I ordered a 6 iron with an Accra iSeries Tour 90 late in December just to try one out. I would say it’s a club that evokes a strong reaction.

Some players really like the look from address and some don’t. I have seen various reviews of it but when it comes to golf clubs I am more adaptable than most. I have not heard that it has any consistency issues which is key for these kinds of clubs. I’ve owned many musclebacks and cavity backs and elastomer-backs, and I’ve even had one injected club (Nike VPC), but never one as advanced as how PXG does it. And hey, if the 0211 works for Pat Perez on Tour, it can’t be a shovel, right? To some, maybe it is. I have other irons of traditional construction to play, this would be my first set built like the 0211. Frankly, while many rave about the 790, I like the curb appeal more on the 0211.

Anyway, my club is en route and I got it with the intention of taking advantage of the holiday price in time to hit it once and order the full set if I like them. No idea if PXG will give me same deal for 7-P if so. (Although I actually paid an upcharge for the Accra to get 90g, low torque and a model that seems to work well for that initial move from steel.) if not, well, I’m eager to see how this 6 iron plays!

Not to invalidate someone’s experience but keep in mind that this thread has something like 700+ posts and is 25’ish pages long. The vast majority of the responses have been very favorable. I’d classify the 0211 as a cult favorite. Anyone else want to second the motion?

I found them as forgiving, as long and much better feeling than my 716 AP1’s for what it’s worth.

Motion passed. The PXG 0211 will now join the likes of Cobra SS Forged, Macgregor 1025, Callaway Legacy Black and various other irons as “Cult Classics”. Man, at this point I feel like I’m schilling the 0211 almost as a hard as @bobcat and the SLDR-C!

One cannot get enough Cult Classic's, hopefully my new to me 0211's reach a place in my heart like my Legacy Blacks have. In the short time that I have had the 0211's they haven't disappointed me. Lots of key features rolled into one club, soft feel, lower offset than most irons offering some forgiveness, I'm a fan of the sole camber, front to back and heel to toe. If we are forming our own cult I nominate Perez as the Grand Puba:) Still can't believe he is playing the 0211's, not sure how long that will last if they are discontinuing the 0211's. Ole Bob will call him into the office and tell him to write down the $$$ figure it will take to get him to play a Gen 3 model? Bob will agree to the amount without looking at the number. I wonder what number Zach Johnson wrote down, probably wished that he doubled it. We will need a new leader at that point. All I got is an extra 10$$ so who's interested?? lol

Think we all have a number we couldn't resist accepting, I would bet Pat turned a few heads at PXG headquarters on his choice of the 0211's. Kinda gives us regular folk some justification in our decision to purchase these 0211's. Good enough for the tour, more than good enough for my hack game. Think this game is alot about confidence, every bit helps. Like u said DC Pat is definitely not one to conform to any cookie cutter stereotypical image, that's for sure.

Kind of an old reference with the new bloodline of users these days. I’d also like to give a “shill shoutout” to @MtlJeff for the buzz that he created for the PING G series irons a few years back. Honestly, I love this kind of passion. Something has worked well for me and I want to share that enthusiasm with others in hopes that it might work for them as well. Also, as a former PXG hater(?), I had a 180* change in perspective that I wouldn’t have thought possible. Maybe someone else can have a similar change of heart.

Pretty much how I feel about the Sugar Daddy wedges, best feeling, most responsive wedge I’ve ever played. I doubled down and bought a back up set while the prices were reduced.

Can someone compare these to i500 and i210???

I find the 0211s to be a touch more forgiving(especially in the progressive long irons) and almost a full club longer than the i210. The 0211s are similar in distance with the i500, but way more forgiving.

I would get i210 in power spec so 0211s would be 0.5-1* stronger. I would think they would be comparable in distance.

Just ordered the Gen 3 0311P's and I'm looking to replace my current driving iron, a TM GAPR LO. As PXG doesnt offer a standalone driving iron, would the 0211 be my best bet?

The lowest club the PXG 0211 offers is a 21.5 degree "4" iron. It might be close to the gapr lo 22, but not sure it can match the distance of the 19 or 17 degree.
